Talk:Dragon Festival 2007 Redux
Is the text on this page sourced from elsewhere? Otherwise there is no need for italics. And if so, a ref link would be a good idea. - BeX 13:22, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- Third paragraph from here. My question is why is this its own page? A section on Dragon Festival 2007 is surely sufficient, given it's already confirmed to be the exact same event, just with different dates. - Tanetris 12:14, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- I assume the hours are different. 81.246.37.187 10:55, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- so what happened the first time? guru states latency issues... any more explanation? BuG 07:06, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- I think it was to do with the European servers have problems and a lot of people were timing out or couldn't connect. Check Gaile News or that dev page, it was on one of them. - BeX 08:13, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Limits[edit]
So I found that only level 20's can do the token quests and only one series per toon. This may be per day or for the whole event. Unknown until tomorrow. Just letting people know why they can't repeat the tokens quests if anyone is curious. -- Vallen Frostweaver 17:39, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Bug[edit]
There is a bug in receiving the quests for this event. If you have multiple characters and you have not logged into them between the time when the last event ended and now, then they will not be able to get the quests.
This is exactly what Guild Wars Support said: "If the character you are attempting to get the quest with participated in the previous Dragon Festival, and has not logged in since that time, you will not be able to be able to participate with that specific character. However, you should be able to create a completely new character and participate. While at this time we do not have a specific time frame for a fix to this issue, our team is investigating possible solutions."
I wanted to post this because it happened to me and I was extremely frusterated, so i wanted to inform others in case it happened to them. -Kamiawolf 09:00, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ha, another Anet classic. They introduce a solution to a problem (that loads of people couldn't play the Festival because of their server problems) and introduce a new problem along with it (people who COULD get through the lagspikes can't play in /this/ Festival). What was it somebody said on another page here? Anet's new-bugs-to-new-features ratio is pretty atrocious :P Cynical 14:15, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- Any word if this will be fixed before the event ends? People who have no open character slots won't want to delete a 1 or 2 year old character to access the event, if the majority of their other character have this quest bug. Personally I took part in the July event with 5 characters but I have been focusing on just ONE character since then. So as a result, 4 of my avatars can't access the quests. Changes from Original Dragon Festival in 2007[edit]
Presents during the final event are now customized - Catraine
- And they are mispelt as "Fesitval Prize" :0 --Gummy Joe 09:52, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
The Chaos Wurms are mobile now and don't attack. The Darkness in Seitung is now a boss. --24.179.151.252 20:53, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
POST Dragon Festival Redux - August 2007[edit]
The Official website says, "Imperial Supply Master Kagno will remain in Shing Jea Monastery for one week following the festival to give attendees who missed the finale a chance to trade their 250 Victory Tokens for a Demon Mask." Guildwars.com --> Dragon Festival Redux—August 2007
It's Saturday, Aug 18... the 6th day after the event. Can someone tell me where he is, I don't see him in Shing Jea. Was he only here until Friday? Dee 23:58, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
Reasoning[edit]
The reason for this redux was because of the people who missed it in July couldn't do anything for boardwalk etc. rite? Shouldn't they be doing another one? I personally missed most of the event, I got back on sunday and barely had enough time to buy out on sweets, but even so there should be another one... Why the fuck do they put it on independence day weekend anyway...--Ʀєʟʟɑ 23:10, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- The reasoning was because Anet's servers were overwhelmed to the point many people logged in at Shing Jea were unable to move. The lag was insane. Therefore, Anet corrected the problem, and redid the festival so it could actually be enjoyed. Since there was no ultra lag problems this time around, there will probably not be a 2008 redux. As for why the put it on the holiday weekend, it is a Guild Wars representation of Independence Day. It will always be the first weekend in July.--Pyron Sy 23:16, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
