Wait for winter?

That means that we have to wait for wintersday to complete War in Kryta? I have a character that completed EoTN, however i don't get any dialogue. I seriously hope not :/ Aerials93 18:33, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

They will but they are not enough. As for sweets they are enough. You need to give him at least one perfect item as far as i know. That means that you need one perfect wrapped parcel...I think that's how it's called Aerials93 20:43, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Ok, friends, here's what you do... There is a guide on this page here. It's pretty comprehensive, but maybe a bit confusing, but it will still guide you through. It's a guide for what you had to do before they actually made it into a quest, but whether it is a quest or not, it works exactly the same. --Musha 08:14, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

I am however having a small amount of trouble with this. I have given him all the items he needs yet he still asks for alcohol. I have loads on me, but he will only recognise kegs and tonics but he wont accept them. Halp? ;o -- 19:46, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

I saw the dialogue in LA keep but when i aproached the princess after expecting the reward dialogue she says her same generic line ? im confused can I continue

Reward

Is there an actual reward for this? After "accepting the reward" for this quest and Asuran Allies, I didn't list any items, gold or experience gained, and I can't see anything new in my inventory. Is this normal? --Andy Frogman 124.171.201.191 09:36, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

That is consistent with the other overarc quests, these were added later to guide people through the content, and not to give additional rewards. Also, answering the section above this one; these quests, while listed as primary, do not actually allow or prevent you from progressing through the War. Those of us who followed the War from its beginnings fumbled around fairly blindly and relied heavily on each others' discoveries here on the wiki and fan sites. -Yossitaru 09:50, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

I wouldn't say that it's consistent with other overarc quests, as with each step of the EotN quests you at least get EXP and Reputation.

The overarc quest in FoW has no reward; you get 10,000 xp for each quest along the way, but nothing directly for completing 11 of 11 objectives. (You do unlock the Chest of Woe, but that's akin to unlocking storyline in WiK.) You asked, is it normal? So, no, most quests (and many umbrella quests) offer direct rewards. Is it unprecedented? Cannot Abandon

I have this quest in my quest log but I cannot abandone it. I have completed WiK, going to HoM or Ice Cliff Chasms doesn't trigger any dialogues, also I didn't started Hearts of the North. Cannot complete

I have finished the quest to "The Battle for Lion's Arch" and as a result, Thackeray is nowhere found in the ice cliff chasms. (I am at the part "Assist Keiran with his ill fated plan to win Gwen's affection.") No can do ? Quest definitively bugged ? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:94.226.11.59 (talk).

Worth Noting: I just now got this on a Character that I apparently did the OLD Wintersday stuff on and discovered that Keiran wouldn't offer me the Good Deed quest yet the quest itself was still telling me to complete "A Good Deed". When I went back into my HOM several times, the 3 dialogs between Keiran & Gwen happened and then after that for some reason, my quest log finally updated and and the first and second step (Complete Good Deed, & Speak with Gwen) both ended up completed even though I did neither. --ilr 21:07, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

Issue: <Quest is not progressing! Have given Thackeray the candles and food, and these options have disappeared from conversation. Have given him 3 pumpkin pies and 3 eggnogs, but the dialogue is now stuck on "And I hope it's better than the last thing you gave me". I am carrying other sweets and drinks which are suitable according to the wiki, but I have no option to offer them.>
Steps to reproduce the issue: <First I gave the pumpking pies and eggnogs. On a separate trip the food (a Pahnai salad), and the food option disappeared from the conversation. On a third trip, the candles, and these disappeared from conversation. So alcohol and sweets did not disappear even though he accepted the three items and gave me the junk.>
Additional info: <He recognises candy canes which of course are not suitable items>

Thanks for updating. There are a couple of possibilities. The most likely is that you need to give him some more sweets and and drink. Ideally, the BD cupcake and cider, but dwarven ale and bean cakes are available in Embark Beach (the first at the Tyrian camp, the second in the Canthan merchant, Natsuko); he'll need to get three each of the ale & cakes (or other alternatives).

If you are sure that he's gotten three each of the sweets/drink...and he's still not being cooperative, try dropping what you have in inventory and talking to him again (and, of course, remember to pick up everything before rezoning). Also try using the backup a second option and go through every possible dialogue option (regardless of whether it makes sense). You are looking for "The hardest part. I still need to get the girl."
