LESS recharge! 13:56, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
and longer duration 87.189.198.66 01:02, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
agree! I've never seen this spell in game for 3 years now, PvE or PvP never... Maybe they would farm with this skill, yeah. But, a simple limit at 3 enchants or something (mystic regeneration) in this way i would suggerst more +energy and +health gain. Nobody but farmers would use this skill in without using 5+ bonds. I don't think an elementalist elite just got it's right to find a way into a build 'cause of monk protection Enchantments, whatever oO Else... Change it's functionality... there are very poor elites in tyria right now --80.121.115.9 00:03, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, Ether Renewal might soon be viable in PvE. At least I'm going to try it, when it gets changed. This might be fun.Mehtis 18:41, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Hah, tell me about it... I'm guessing it'll max out at 21 seconds or so. 21 * 1.2 = 25 seconds. Keep this, Aura of Restoration, and two maintained enchantments up... you're looking at 16 energy per spell cast. For 25 out of 30 seconds. And that's not counting the 80 point selfheal it'll give you. I'm totally capping this. --Phydeaux 05:55, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
Forget Sabway...put this and Aura of Restoration on an ele loaded with restoration skills. Infinite energy unless double enchant stripped. --76.2.224.117 04:57, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

As Ether Renewal (PvE) now hast the typical 5..17..20 progression and a 30 second recharge it can be kept up infinitly with a Staff of Enchanting and the Glyph of Swiftness. Noctarch 11:43, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Skip the glyph; save a slot. You're not gonna burn through 70+ energy in eight seconds... --24.179.151.252
True when using this on Heroes, they sometimes forget to use the glyph prior to Ether Renewal, might as well drop it. Or bring Glyph of Elemental Power for 18 in Energy Storage: +5 energy for every cast for each enchantment. After some experimenting with Ether Renewal, Aura of Restoration and some Restoration Skills from /Rt makes your hero able to constantly spam those /Rt skills. Could be a viable build after some tuning. --Arduinna talk 12:16, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
It is indeed possible to burn that much energy in that small time... Mindbender, Lightning Hammer, Lightning Ball, Flash Lightning Noctarch 23:20, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Lightning Ball? Psychiatric Consultant 16:46, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Ball Lightning.. or whatsoever. Something big and huge with electric effect and lethal capability. Noctarch 20:55, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Lightning Orb?(74.248.192.25 03:16, 3 November 2008 (UTC))

please fix/clean the chart...it's going top to bottom instead of left to right... 75.105.243.209 02:39, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Currently, I'm using ER in a build I use very often. ER Ele + 1-2 bonder heros. I load myself with about 7 enchantments from my bonders including Holy Wrath and Retribution. Honestly, it can blaze through most parts of FoW and UW, and DoA didn't know what hit it. I got in the habbit of running tower of courage and the wailing lord quests in FoW for both the shard drops and to pop the quest chests( since purple Crystaline Swords can drop from these chests). I can always get the drop when I flag my heros out of range. Each run takes about 15 min with lots of practice. Minor enchantment strips are really not a problem since i'm constantly spamming Burning Speed, which in some forms of the build, also refreshes kenetic armor. So my important enchantments stay covered. All enemies adjacent to me pretty much suffer from burning continuously while also spamming a couple of other dmg skills. I don't worry about adding extra armor skills unless dealing with aaxtes, since I want them to deal more dmg in the first place. Smites are more effective this way. With the enchantments on me I heal myself for about 46 energy and 510 health per second. My life lingers around 1.7k with symbiosis added to one of my heros. This is ofcourse a little OP in most areas, and I do tone it down when I don't need so much. Wether it be removing a hero for extra drops, or adding more dmg to my skill bar. My point is, Ether Renewal has become a blessing for me. I can pretty much use it anywhere, including places with mass enchantment strips, as long as I throw Spellbreaker on a hero. The short durration of SB isn't all that bad since mobs die pretty quickly even in HM. I'm sure there is a place or two in which my ER build would fail no matter how much I tweaked it but, I havn't found that place yet. I do not intend to release my entire Ether Renewal build for obvious reasons. I would like to see more PvE'rs to give it a try though. Ether Renewal + Burning Speed = Sweet Lord!....Purity Burns72.236.201.30 09:41, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

Arcane Zeal[edit]

Added Arcane Zeal as a related skill. Discuss here if you think it should be here (Arcane Zeal does have Ether Renewal in its related skills). Firoas. talk 11:40, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Naturally, those two are related. Ryuu 15:59, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Ether Renewal[edit]

I honestly think this is better than Dual Attunement, seriously! especially if someone is protting/barbsing/etc for even more energy... It's like "wow, why didn't anyone tell me about a skill that acts like Omega Soul Reaping + Generic Powerheal without the Soul :DDD *jumped on Ether Nuke Bandwagon* Nikdanbro 09:20, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

ether renewal + aura of restoration on a hero with even those expensive spamable 10e skills in protection prayers. Shield Guardian, Protective spirit, guardian, RoF, dismiss, spirit bond....even droping a few of those on your self increases the rediculous nature of this skill.--Justice 21:58, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Needs to be nerfed[edit]

Seriously I don't know why this hasn't been already. Even if you guys (Anet) do your lazy little thing and tack on an "Disables all your Monk skills for 10 seconds" thing and be done with it. This skill has single-handedly booted monks out of any sort of spotlight.76.188.221.120 21:38, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Ether Renewal will only seriously be a problem once ER prot eles become more mainstream. As it is, most PUGs, even in HM, refuse to admit in their tiny little pea-sized PUG minds that ER's can both out-heal and out-prot a monk. So as far as I can see, monks still have the spotlight. Silavor UserSilavorSigIcon.png 12:21, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
lulz, what was the last time you saw a party ask for an ER healer instead of a monk or boot their monk for ER healer? Whine less pl0x. --Super IgorUser- Super Igor logo.png 12:27, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
That's exactly the retarded attitude, which kills this game: don't nerf until mainstream. They can make the biggest shthole ever, but until everybody is fracking it, everything is just fine. --98.27.159.18 02:36, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
Ya, do we really need another Amity, Mist Form, or Balthazar's Pendulum? --The Wind Sage 05:28, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
Old school ether renewal nerf caused the phrase "ether renewaled". Let's not have that happen again. Right now all it is good for is E/Mo ER prot. There is not much synergy as Elementalists only really have aura of restoration, earth magic, and attunements as enchants. Maybe E/D. --Life Infusion «T» 04:11, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
