burning fart?[edit]

In Guildwiki they say it's "I burn the winds"......
Take into consideration the passing wind expression.
- Although it can loosely be translated as I burn farts, the latin can also be translated into "I burn the winds" or "I burn with the Winds" or I burn the wind". It can even be loosely translated to be "Burning Blast", which considering his elite, I think is the most likely name. Although this just proves that Anet should leave Latin names alone until they get a better idea of the language structure.-- Salome

- Yeah, I imagine they probably meant something else (I suspected they might have meant "Burning Breath"), but honestly, you could translate it that way, particularly since the English word flatus is directly derived from it, so I left it alone. - As hilarious as the idea of a boss named "I Burn Farts" is, there's one slight problem: the latin word for flatulence is inflatio which, while derived from the same root as flatus, is not the same word. Flatus, as we have seen above, means blowing, blast, breathing, arrogance, and haughtiness: NOT "passing wind" as mentioned above. To say that Flatus = Fart is a VERY long stretch, even by wiki standards. In fact, the only one of those translations that could arrive at "fart" would be "breathing," given that it IS breathing (in a way), but through a different orrifice than your mouth. I won't take it down, because I can see how - if one lets one's mind wander far enough - someone could come to this conclusion. Personally, I think the most likely translation of the name is "Burning Blast;" as stated above, this is in connection with his elite skill.
