wrong article name?

When taking a look at the trivia section, in almost all events, they were named "Festival Prize", which should actually be this articles name, and "Boardwalk Prize" should redirect to "Festival Prize" imo. —ZerphaThe Improver 15:54, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Remove Cupcake reference?

I suggest this be changed: "Their only practical purpose is to acquire Victory tokens and exchanging them for Birthday Cupcakes quickly and without farming monsters.". Since we no longer get cupcakes, it seems outdated. (Edit: forgot to sign) Zohane Trueaim 09:44, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

Number of prizes

The article states that a character may get "8-15" festival prizes spawn in your inventory. That's different from the number in Dragon Festival 2011, which lists "11-14" prizes. Neither number appears to be correct, since I just got 26. Incidentally, that's about the number of celestial charges that I saved, so I wonder if the numbers are connected (may be just a coincidence of course, but the numbers in the articles are definitely wrong). Bogus value

The values as mentioned in the article are not only wrong, but also outdated and they make use of fluctuating player market values, which is against the going standard for wiki articles..... If spammable sweet go for 100g per point now, the red bean cake has a value of 60g under column 2. That would also dictacte a victory token value of 30g each (when you trade 10 tokens for 1 creme worth 3 sweet points) and thus for victory tokens under column 2 you'd get 60g. The Bottle of rice wine sells for 200g each to the merchant so forget about teh player market. Value under column 2: 50g. I'm getting to a player market value of 220g per gift, not 350g each. Avoid Festival Prizes for the purpose of getting Drunk/Sweet points. Their only practical purpose is to acquire Victory tokens and exchanging them for Birthday Cupcakes quickly and without farming monsters.

Analysis

Assuming a value of 20 per Victory Token, the total average value of the items that can be obtained per festival prize (350) is lower than the value of the festival prize (375). Therefore it is more cost-efficient to simply buy Red Bean Cakes or Bottles of Rice Wine from merchants.

Exchanging the Victory Tokens for title items and consuming them does not pay off either. A player will get on average:

• 0.6 Sweetness Points from Red Bean Cake (2 points * 30% chance)
• 0.25 Drunk Points from Bottle of Rice Wine (1 point * 25% chance)
• 0.6 points of either Sweetness or Intoxication from Crème Brûlée or Flask of Firewater, respectively, when exchanging the Victory Tokens (3 points * 0.5 * 40% chance)
• 50 (1 * 5% chance)

Adding the points for the Sweet Tooth and Drunkard title yields a total of 1.45 points per festival prize on average. At an effective cost of 325 per festival prize, this is still less cost-efficient than buying the respective items from merchants. Dwarven Ale and Red Bean Cake each carry a cost of 200 per drunken/sweetness point; 325/1.45 points = 224/point for the Festival Prize.

2011 Dragon Festival Drops

I opened 92 prizes and got:

Victory tokens: 30 times = 32.6%

Red bean cake: 27 times = 29.3%

Rice wine: 25 times = 27.2%

1000g: 10 times = 10.9%

The 1k drop rate is about double what the main page shows. It came at the expense of victory tokens. Did I get lucky or did the drop rate change this year? Thoughts?

Opening only 92 prizes makes it easy to get different results from the averages. 7 other people posted 2011 results:

• 135 Plats out of 2552 prez → 5.3%. (without Redhame's results)
• 145 plat out of 2644 prez → 5.4% (with the 92 prez above)

That's a bit higher than expected, but within 10% of the predicted whole number of 5%. I don't think we are misleading people by posting the current numbers. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 00:23, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

Is the amount of festival prizes constant in 2012?

Question the statement, "An additional 10-26 is [sic] awarded if your district wins the game…"; is it still true?. Just went though three consecutive events with three different characters. The final scores where 200+, 300+, and 400+; all wins for our side. In each case there where 13+1 Festival Prizes in the inventory after the Emperor had left. — Nonsuch 07:35, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

I received either 13 or 14 from each event (or from the post-grasp reward phase, I got 13 ten times and 12 twice). In prior years, I usually got at least 1-2 "doubles." – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 08:15, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
