z0mG! Hamstorm needs a nerf, way too deadly for this game. barkingllama

Related Skills[edit]

Why is meteor shower a related skill? --8765 08:27, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Hot stuff falling from the sky? I get your point though, it really isn't related. Breath of Fire (and Searing Heat etc) is much more closely related than Met Shower. -Auron 08:30, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Ok, so if Fire Storm is not related to Meteor shower then why are they said to be related on Met Shower's page bun not so on Fire Storm's page. See for yourself if you don't believe me. Weaponmaster 17:55, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Be bold. If something doesn't match up, feel free to edit the page and fix it yourself. --click moar Mafaraxas 19:35, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Tbh, this deals quite alot of dmg... say for example, this deals 21 damage per second... times that by ten, thats 210 damage in 10 seconds (bearing in mind the foes stay in fire storm). Still...that a heck of alot of damage for 1 skill, even Shattorstone doesn't compare to this Blah10

"(bearing in mind the foes stay in fire storm)" Which is why this skill will never be very good. Even most newbs will run out of the AoE after 4-5 seconds. --click moar Mafaraxas 16:33, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Most noobs aren't enemies in PvE. Paddymew 14:37, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
most enemies in pve would reduce the damage to something like 10 damage per hit and would run out of it after five seconds too ;o --click moar Mafaraxas 05:45, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Funny. I usually do around 30 damage per wave, and enemies tend to die before they start to run. This isn't at all good for HM, but the AI doesn't tell ice elementals to run from fire falling from the sky. Paddymew 08:21, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Prophecies ice elementals aren't exactly high-end mobs, you can kill them with any build (infact, you probably wouldn't even need a single skill to kill them...). If EoTn elementals, fair enough, but that's a really limited use. Everywhere else, I see this skill do ~10 each hit. I'd rather just put in a mes with chaos storm. 114.77.108.48 10:27, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Nerf[edit]

I hate the nerf, took all the power out of this skill. 75.58.121.235 21:11, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

I like how this skill was never updated. Paddymew 05:30, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
I was wondering that too but haven't been around long enough to feel sure. | 72 User Seventy two Truly Random.jpg (UTC) 05:52, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
The page history is your friend. Paddymew 08:58, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I know, but--Oh, wow. I totally forgot this isn't Guildwiki. Back at GWiki they have {{Fire Storm}} and {{Skill Name Etc.}} as a template to generate the page, which made looking at skills' histories annoying and unrewarding. Anyway, over here where you can see skill histories on the page, hurray. | 72 User Seventy two Truly Random.jpg (UTC) 16:11, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
This is a bit late, but bear in mind, most of the main skill pages don't have information from as far back as 2005. Fire Storm took 3 seconds to cast before March 2, 2006, for example. To the best of my knowledge, it also cost 15 energy and dealt roughly 5...24...29 damage per pulse on release. MA Anathe 17:02, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Tall skill.[edit]

Yes, this is a tall skill. Split up in a reasonably open area - I noticed this in Lakeside County in the area between the lever-gate/bull pond/actor's stage - and watch your team-mate cast this spell. You'll see that the streaks of fire come down from very high up. (You stand back near the lever-gate while your team-mate runs ahead to firestorm one of the aloes near the ramp up to the back entrance to the bandit camp.) Cynique 15:52, 6 October 2011 (UTC)

One of the other fun places to cast this is in the Ring of Fire mission. At the first set of Ether Seals (the place where you decide to barge in the front door or take the back route), there is a ledge very high up. If you can pull some monsters to within casting range below the ledge, and get off a Fire Storm, you can kind of see the "top" of the animation, where the streaks start to fall from. It's neat. 76.78.119.15 21:09, 6 October 2011 (UTC)

double animation[edit]

has anyone else noticed this, ive used it in pre searing many times and it does exactly what it says, but after animation has finished ill cast some other spell and the animation for fire storm seems to start again, not sure if its to do with enemies not underneath it so animation stops untill another enemy enters but its definately strange.
