Soar Honorclaw is female. It's wrong in the first objective.--178.25.145.62 17:42, 30 September 2011 (UTC) really hard quest --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 93.146.151.226 (talk).

Meh its slightly challenging in HM - but heres a tip: you can avoid the allied tengu at the start and clear all the ministry first, then when you've cleared them out you can return to the start for the NPCs and kill:
a) the mob by the prisoners
b) the mobs approaching from the West and South.
c) proceed south and kill the next wave from the south
d) head for the exit. --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 15:15, 30 September 2011 (UTC)

Trivia[edit]

Oh btw I'm assuming this is a lynyrd skynyrd reference to his song Free Bird ^^--File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 18:15, 30 September 2011 (UTC)

Maybe, but in the livestream chat I did ask and they just said something on the lines of "References, in gw?" so not a lot of help. Though Free as a bird could be traced back further than the song anyway. If there was a long guitar solo in the middle we could have confirmed this. --Smithy-Star User Smithyben sig icon.png 18:23, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
It could also be a reference to Arrested Development where Gob names one of his magic tricks "Free Bird." --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 10:08, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
It it could also be a reference to a movie from 2008 called "Freebird", it could also be possible that the name of the quest isn't a reference to anything other then the fact that Tengu look like birds and that the objective of the quest is to free them.--93.142.160.118 09:31, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
Quest should have been called 'Angry Birds' 94.224.27.61 18:54, 2 November 2011 (UTC)

Anomaly[edit]

Errr isn't Soar Honorclaw the DAUGHTER of the previous chief. Hence the quest log in the actual game is wrong since it states SHE as a HE.

P.S. I moved this post down here from the top section, its my post but just letting y'all know Mohd.Almosa 09:40, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

Hate[edit]

am i the only one who HATEs this quest? after trying it last night i had to rage quit... but i think the solution is to go around and not talk to the first party of birds kill everything and then profit.-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 00:28, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

yep that makes the quest do able imho.-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 01:43, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
I had no issues. Where were you getting wiped? --Moto Saxon 02:19, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
i was at first but it was more a combination of me not having updated my heroes bars and not flagging and pulling after i did thous things along with clearing everything ahead of time it was a breeze.-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 03:12, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

Weapon[edit]

Did this quest two times around, first time Soar used a Fiery Dragon Sword, second time I think it's called a broadsword. Anybody else have this happen to them? Me And My Sin

Suggested Tactic[edit]

Figured I would test out the suggested tactic on the hard mode page while running this quest for all 10 of my characters in normal, finding it excellent. Full credit to the poster on the hard mode page, but I'll post my description here as well: Don't get the allied birds at first, but rather go round (roughly) clockwise and clear out the path to and away from the prisoners. To avoid over-agro, I found it best to clear the mobs on the bridge before and to the left of the rez shrine before doubling back and taking out the mobs on the right bridge, around the southern approach to the prisoners, and then the rooftop above the same rez shrine. Continue the clockwise path and come into the prison area from the west (which will be empty since you still don't have your allies). To get fresh minions for my nec hero and any allied minion master, take out only the first 2 of the 4 mobs that block the exit path and then get your allies. Return (which will trigger more dialogue but not the final as long as you first...), clear the final 2 mobs blocking the exit, and then enter the prison area. The final dialogue will trigger, position yourself close to the west exit. Take out the Ministry quick when they turn hostile and then run west, taking out the small mob that spawns from that direction. If you get west fast enough, you can avoid the much larger group that spawns from the south and loop back around to the exit without any additional fighting. Be careful not to leave any allies behind after you pick them up, as they tend to get stuck behind their own spirits. Also, there are no Ministry or other similar high level foes on the way back to Soar Honorclaw for the quest reward. Lord Flynt 05:23, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
