Just noticed... guildwars.com did it Pacific Time friday... I'm eastern, that's why it's a day off --Kyle van der Meer 08:26, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Aye I forgot about the time difference. Can we move it? --MageMontu 08:27, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Moved it. --Kyle van der Meer 08:41, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
  • Fixed an exploit that could be used to introduce post-Searing items into pre-Searing.

Isn't that like the fourth time they've claimed they fixed that? --71.208.155.233 08:27, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

I didn't even know there was an exploit =S — Eloc 08:32, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

How The?[edit]

How could you do it? There isn't a Xunlai Chest?

I didn't even know there was a first time?

Must admit its getting annoying hearing people doing that,I hope if they have Legendary Defender titles they get them removed!!Thats only reason I can think of why people would do it, I'm in there grinding on that title and is boring!!!Yeah maybe its nice but if they like it for the view then no need to bring in post stuff. What would be useful is to introduce xp scrolls only in the over the wall kills,in fact prob just the level 8's drop them.Would make the title a little bit easier, still take a while to do it of course but your still earning title by grinding.--Dan Mocha 08:51, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
I knew that this was still possible as of Wintersday 2007 (January 1, 2008). How it was done, I don't know. --Curse You 08:50, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Same. — Eloc 08:50, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
As far as I know no one but me and the ArenaNet developers knew of this, so don't panic, nobody exploited it :)--Pablo24 12:32, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Could have been another Guild Hall bug. 69.143.6.8 15:09, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Nice one Pablo, I assume you found it then reported it without blabbing it all over the internet. That is what I like to see. Lyra ValoUser Lyra Valo Sig.jpg 16:18, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
I know thts good pablo do many ppl find a bug then they blab the internet round about how they do it and how they keep doing it to "test" it and stuff - 69.248.175.25 16:24, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
You could as well tell it now :) It has been fixed already, so... Clement 16:50, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Reset indent- pablo, stop finding exploits you bastard you! ^^ <3 pablo. LordSojar 00:33, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

There's no Guild Halls in pre-searing, exluding Wizard's Isle of course, but that doesn't count ;) — Eloc 01:36, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Original exploit involved finding the normally hidden "Enter guild hall" button and modding it to show up in Pre-searing, iirc. The guild hall button was still on the guild menu in Pre-Searing, you just couldn't see it or click it; people used visual mods to bring the button back up, and presto, pre-searing character in the Guild Hall, with full access to storage. That was fixed a long while ago I believe, but remnants of the method could have stuck around for quite a while. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 10:58, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
This exploit involved sending the drop item packet to drop an item right out of your storage while in an explorable area in pre searing. ;)--Pablo24 15:40, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
"Drop item packet"? --Mme. Donelle 00:53, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
If you don't know, then you probably shouldn't ask. =) Rappy 06:05, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Hah, sorry. It was actually genuine curiosity. I know packets have something to do with transferring data over the internet, but the concept of being able to idenfity and play with packets to that degree surprises me. --Mme. Donelle 17:53, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Sounds like some leet hack :) Clement 10:22, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

So somebody did like that other somebody did to make samba, found a drop packet, and made a general mess? Yup, that's a fairly leet hack.--Kyle van der Meer 00:33, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Just to interject to Jioruji Derako's comment: It was not a "visual mod" that gave access to the guild hall button in presearing before. The only thing that visual mods do is change the way textures appear. The best example of what you suggested would be drawing a door on a solid wall and then trying to open it and walk through. If a visual mod added a guild hall travel button, you should have been able to use the button prior by clicking the space the mod would have added the button to. The previous bug was via a client hack, not visual mod. --Goteki-45 16:33, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
