Talk:Guild Wars with Controllers

From my personal experience, I was at Target and found a PowerA PS3 game pad for only $20 US. I took the gamble that it would work on a PC since it was USB. It turned out to be plug and play compatible. In total you have 13 buttons and 2 analog sticks. This won't replace the need to use keyboard or mouse but enhances your gaming experience greatly. Since Guild Wars will not recognize any joystick, I use the Joy2Key program which allows you to customize your controls. The left analog stick on mine is set to W,A,S, and D while my right emulates the mouse. I have my top bumpers set to Left Click and Right Click keys. My right trigger is attack, while my left is item pick up. I tried my son's 360 controller but you need special drivers for it to work. You can only fit 4 skills on the buttons but then there is the D-pad as well. I had carpel tunnel surgery done on both hands years ago and the modern gaming controllers keep the users hands in a more natural position.--Wendy Black 01:38, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Re-directs[edit]

Considering adding redirects to this page from: "Gamepads", "Gamepad", "Gamepad Support", "Controllers", "Controller" and "Controller Support". Alternatively moving this page TO "Gamepads" for ease of finding and it being a more used term.Phores 10:02, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

User Farlo suggested the name so I stuck with it. As far as the redirects go, why not have added them yourself? :D --Wendy Black 03:22, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
Ok it didn't take that long, I added "Gamepad", "Controller", and "Joystick" as redirects to the page. I messed up the first time but nothing that couldn't be fixed. But that is what makes wiki's so great, audience participation, don't be afraid to add stuff.--Wendy Black 03:38, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
