Talk:Icy Shackles
If the hexed person isnt under the effects of an enchantment when the hex is cast and then an enchantment is put on him, would the person become 90% slower? -Zackattack 01:29, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
- Yes they would. OblivionDanny 16:35, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
- Obviously tbh. Dark Morphon(contribs) 08:56, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
- How is that obvious? I figured that as well but just like with natural stide only canceling if hexed/enchanted AFTER the stance is used, it's not 100% clear.
- For people with my brains it is. Dark Morphon(contribs) 16:17, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Nerfed?[edit]
Was this skill even nerfed? I mean this is still useful on a FC ele, 1 second shouldn't make too much of a difference. prokiller88 22:44, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Not only that, Grasping Earth still has not been touched by nerfdates. Don't say that to anyone. I'd take Grasping Earth over this any day. It has shorter activation time, same energy cost and same recharge cost but last more.--Wealedout 02:29, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
- unfortunately it's in a very different attribute line and requires you to be right next to the enemy in order to use it. huh.
Nerf[edit]
lol, with another nerf this skill now is definately inferior in every way to grasping earth. I mean, why would you waste an elite spot for a shorter duration, same energy cost and a 1/4 sec longer cast (albeit 1/4sec aint that much).Crimmastermind 09:32, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- Because with grasping earth you have to run right up to your target? And when your target kites you are screwed?Pika Fan 14:50, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- Icy Shackles is also in an attribute which contains an arsenal of Ten other non-elite Hex Spells which could be used to decrease the chance that Icy Shackles can be removed. The Earth Magic line has fewer, more conditional hexs which often have long recharge times. 4.225.95.143 15:10, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- It's also conditionally a 90% snare, and 90% is bigger than a smaller number. Misery 15:11, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- From a GvG point of view, you can throw it up on a target for a spike assist. When they prot against the spike, suddenly the spike target is now walking at 90% and setting off autocrits like mad. Mr J 15:30, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- This is ranged, Grasping Earth is PBAoE.
- Yea, but the thing is, there are now like 10 water magic spells in the same attribute that have the same unconditional movement speed decrease without wasting your elite slot (plus they actually do damage). Sure, they dont last as long (like 2 sec is going to matter), but if your spike cant kill the target in 6-8 seconds, its not going to (Also, mind freeze is now way superior to this skill).Crimmastermind 09:48, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

shhhh, no one's meant to know about Grasping Earth D:! xD... it's totally next now :( Nikdanbro 21:35, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
Meh, needs something more[edit]
This skill needs a function change. A 90% snare is awesome and all, but would anyone in PvE ever use this? Make this version as it is, a PvP skill. Make the PvE version something else:
Icy Shackles: Elite Spell. Send out a projectile that strikes target foe for X...X...X (maybe make these the same as Water Trident for damage) cold damage. If that foe is under the effects of a Water Magic Hex, this skill recharges twice as fast.
Icy Shackles: Elite Hex Spell. Target foe is Hexed with Icy Shackles. For 0...8...13 seconds, the next time target foe takes lightning damage, that foe is knocked down, takes an additional X...X...X lightning damage and Icy Shackles ends.
Or, finally, Icy Shackles: Elite Hex Spell. Target foe is Hexed with Icy Shackles, decreasing attack and run speed by 33%. If target foe was already under the effects of an Elemental Hex, this spell affects all adjacent foes.
Give us a usable PvE form of this elite please, and we will be very hapy to use it. FleshAndFaith 18:21, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
Ice Shackles: Elite Hex Spell. Target foe and adjacent foes are hexed with Icy Shackles, attacks has a 50% chance to miss and movement speed is reduced by 90%. (Keep the energy cost, activation time, and recharge :D )--Bive 23:08, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- Icy Shackles - 15e/2s/12s. You cause a Icy Shackles? at target foe's location. All foes in the area are struck for 10...54...65 damage and move 66...85...90% slower for 5...9...10 seconds. Moo Kitty 23:54, 13 September 2009 (UTC) PvE totally balancedddddddddd.
This NEEDS a PvE version. No one cares about a single target snare in general PvE. This needs some extra utility if it is ever going to see the light of day over Trident in PvE. Give it some Oomf, and BAM, Kick it up a notch! FleshAndFaith 02:57, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
meh[edit]
Waste my elite on a no damage skill? Noty, Ice Spikes is much better Backwards Llort 20:22, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
Isnt a TOTAL waste. Combine with vapor blade for at least some serious annoyance. But really A-net, AoE or no go..--^^ The Wind Sage 07:29, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
