Intentional Misspellings?[edit]

Who said they are intentional? There is an increased discussion among many academics in schools of the English language which believe this kind of speech in computer games lowers the quality of the language as a whole, directly related to people learning these forms of spelling as the proper way to spell. I propose if these articles are to remain the "intentional" be removed as this is perspective and not fact and there is reason to believe "intention" is not the reality. Also, originated in the communities of other MMORPG such as WoW? I know this language was around back in the days of Diablo 1, which was a LOOOONG time ago, long before WoW and also not technically an MMORPG. Dancing Gnome 02:04, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

If you think the "intentional" remark is too much of an opinion and too little of a fact, you are more than welcome to change the article (giving the reason as to why while editing it). This is, after all, a wiki. Later if someone decides to disagree, we can start a discution on the talk page :)--Fighterdoken 02:13, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
While we're on the topic, I misspell it intentionally every time I type one of those words. I guess I could go around and say "learn to play, please" instead of "lrn2play," but the former really doesn't have the effect.
And no, I don't think I've ever typed "l2p" instead of "learn to play" by accident. -Auron 02:15, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
This is basically just free advertising for WoW. I am gonna remove it, since WoW neither invented nor owns these terms. I actually met someone who thought WoW players invented the term mule, while I frequently saw it being used in Diablo 2. 145.94.74.23 08:05, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Do we really need this[edit]

Or any of the other articles like QQ, ragequit, and the other crap? What these articles are basically saying is "players are faggots," and/or "players are elitists," and while I agree with at least one and possibly both of those sstatements, they are kind of subjective and not very wiki-like. If we do need them, I would suggest merging them into a "Players Are Faggots" article, bonus points if someone makes a sock called User:lzzy to start it. --Jette User Jette awesome.png 04:19, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

It explains a term newbs may or may not know.. so what if it's saying players are elitists? That's what it's supposed to do, right? — Emmett 04:40, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, about late response, but I agree with Emmett above. This article is not necessarily saying "players are elitists", but rather that, if you don't take the time to read up on the game and bring a valuable, researched opinion to the table, we're not going to baby you. This is not the same as "don't help new players", but rather "don't help those players that have played long enough that they should know better". Of course, there is also the situation in which this is used as a trolling maneuver. However, this is a wiki, so it should include all information. 69.249.223.63 20:32, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

plox delete[edit]

This is nothing gw specific. And this wiki is about recording the game as it is, not the rubbish some folks might be doing in-game. Steve1 (talk) 17:43, 22 May 2023 (UTC)

Agreed, don't see the article containing valuable or useful information. Dmitri Fatkin (talk) 20:34, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
