Can the skill rewards be added to this page? It would be a lot more useful. - BeX iawtc 04:51, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

A big huge thankyou to whoever just updated this with skill icons for easier viewing, I refer to it all the time. :) I may put profession sub-headings up where necessary so if a TOC pops up you can jump to the relevant places. --Ari 15:49, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Wow...Prophecies has more...if not, the only game that has a REALLY skill rewards for quests, unlike Factions and Nighfall that only reward you at the "newbie" island. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:65.23.207.73 (talk).

Split[edit]

Icon rewards are ftw, but can we split onto "List of Prophecies skill quests" etc? - BeX iawtc 17:03, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

That's a possibility, or we could try tabulating them to take up less space. Which do you prefer? I agree since I filled out the rest of the icons it's gotten way too long. --Ari 17:53, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Thinking more on this, I'm leaning heavily towards tabulating them by class in campaign-based tables, that way we can also rather easily list skills here for quests that all professions gain skills from. Any objections? --Ari 18:59, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
I've updated the page with the table for prophecies. It's still pretty big, so perhaps it's worth splitting this off into four pages anyway. --Ari 21:25, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
I don't like the sorted by profession thing. :/ It makes it too difficult to tell what rewards you will get for your secondary profession. - BeX iawtc 02:51, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
It's sort of become List of skill quest rewards by profession now. - BeX iawtc 02:53, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, if we do go by campaign, I can probably put all of those quests that reward one primary and one secondary quest into the "Common" area. Does that sound useful? I suppose it makes more sense that way anyway, as you won't be able to come back and do those later. --Ari 09:10, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
I'm going to go ahead with this sometime soon seeing I haven't got any more comments on it since my last one. Please feel free to comment if you think it still needs splitting after I'm done, or if you don't like how the page turned out. --Ari 01:07, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
I've been away from the wiki since my last comment. I'll try to take a look at this tomorrow (bedtime now) but if I've forgotten give me a buzz on the talk page. I think two articles wouldn't be a bad idea, because the organization is so different in style. - BeX iawtc 17:00, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
I've just finished splitting them appropriately now. Do you think it fits the original article now, or should I split it and restore this to a previous version? I don't think there's a huge hurry. --Ari User Ari sig.jpg (talk) 12:58, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
It still doesn't strike me as a list of skill quests. I think it should be restored, and your sorted section moved to something like "List of skill rewards by profession". And then we could do what I was envisioning on "List of <Campaign> skill rewards by quest". Your list is very good, and very helpful, and the time you put into it is very much appreciated! It just is under the wrong name if you know what I mean. :P - BeX iawtc 02:01, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
Heh, it's cool :) I can spare the time to split this off in a couple weeks I think. If someone wants to do it earlier, go ahead. Probably worth keeping GW:EN skills as they are now though I think! --Ari User Ari sig.jpg (talk) 18:49, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Drunken Master[edit]

I have one more Dwarven skill: Drunken Master. I am almost certain i got it from some quest, little problem: i can not remember from wich one. I thought it was that quest with those map pieces but since i can not repeat the quest at the moment i just hope some one else can find it out and add it to the list. Added. Surprised no one updated it after so long. Caasig 14:27, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

Instructor Ng Quests for factions character[edit]

Since his quests give out skills when you accept the quests, you can skip all the quests until you can switch secondary professions and get all the skills for those you've unlocked.

Factions quests incorrectly marked as primary profession only[edit]

All of the factions quests besides the insignia quests are incorrectly marked as requiring a primary profession to take them; you can do all those quests with any factions primary profession after you complete your primary professions quests. I'm going to remove that marking unless anyone has any objections. --98.21.71.41 20:43, 23 October 2020 (UTC)

I cannot do these quests on Canthan characters, so I am not convinced this is entirely accurate. Are there other prerequisites that are relevant here? - Infinite - talk 21:17, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
It has to be a new character, probably? These quests can, in fact, be done after you complete your primary profession's quests; create a new character now, do your primary professions quests, then, during the second profession quest/whatever you take all the "talk to the headmaster" quests from togo, you can accept those rewards and take the first quest in the chain from each of the headmasters. Try for yourself. --98.21.71.41 03:43, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
Working from memory here: IP is correct, you can do those quests after you have done your primary q chain and BEFORE you decide on your secondary. It let's you test out the available secondaries and get the XP. Steve1 (talk) 08:42, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
That is arguably a very important distinction, though. I think IP makes a great point in saying the phrasing in most of the article is confusing. - Infinite - talk 16:52, 24 October 2020 (UTC) - Infinite - talk 16:52, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
Regarding your edit summary: It's kind of similar to the Prophecies skill Qs in Pre-searing. How would your 2 sections look like? Steve1 (talk) 18:24, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
I think just a section of "temporarily available skill quests" with the note explaining those quest are only available prior to settling on a secondary profession, above a section of skill quests in released order. I'll mock up a visualisation now. - Infinite - talk 20:50, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
Very rough mock up. If the section link does not work, it is just past my previous mock-up for the admin list suggestion(s). The idea of the mock up is to create sections of availability and when the opportunity has passed for some quests, separating them accordingly. - Infinite - talk 22:28, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
I personally like the design and flow of that mock up; it helps clarify when certain skills are available. I think your notes are good, but could use some work to be precise and clarify what exactly we're trying to convey. Note 1 reads All temporarily obtained skills remain unlocked for your character and on your account. They will not all be kept, though. I think you're trying to say skills that you learn from a secondary profession (of which you ultimately don't choose as a secondary) will remain available to the character after ascension when they can change secondary professions. My personal opinion is that it needs to be fleshed out more thoroughly and specified about what we're talking about. The second note reads All of these quests are not repeatable, so other skills must be obtained through other means. I think you're saying that those prophecies quests that offer multiple skills per profession are not repeatable, so one needs to be the correct primary or secondary profession to gain the skill they desire. Again, I think it should be made more explicit. Thank you for all the work! EDIT: One other thing to consider is the "quest availability" section of the current article, it seems to convey that some prophecies quests in post are only available to tyrian characters, separated by region. This is not reflected in the mock up. EDIT: Sorry, didn't notice the footnote indicating that those quests were tyrian exclusive. --98.21.71.41 00:57, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
One note: "Temporarily available skill quests" in Prophcies are available for your secondary profession as well. Steve1 (talk) 20:57, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
