Talk:Migraine
Too Weak?[edit]
Recharge on Arcane Conundrum can be cut to 13 seconds with Mantra of Recovery, two seconds faster than Migraine, with the added bonuses of AoE and faster recharges on all spells. Compared to that, Migraine is lacking as an elite. One possibilitiy is partnering Migraine with something like Mantra of Persistence, significantly extending the duration of the hex, but any hex removal would mitigate that advantage without proper cover. -- Hercanic 08:33, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- In Illusion Magic, when has a cover hex ever been a problem? This is one of the more powerful PvP elites. It probably is weak in PvE outside of Hard Mode because a single enemy is hardly ever worth that amount of shut-down. Complaining about this is like complaining about Eviscerate. I mean, barely anyone uses it outside of GvG. It must be weak, right? 72.81.247.139 05:11, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Stacking[edit]
Does this skill stack with Frustration and similar? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:62.56.94.26 .
- The stacking limit of increased activation speed is +100%. So, the short answer is no. - HeWhoIsPale 21:26, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- 150%, so yes with frustration and to a lesser extent yes with other skills. --Lou-Saydus 18:48, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Broken Images[edit]
Anyone else notice the image for this skill has turned into a red thingy? Or is it just me ? Deathlike 20:12, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- Somehow a number of skill icons have disappeared on this wiki. -- Hercanic 08:33, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Same as takes twice as long to cast spells?[edit]
Isn;t it takes one hundred percent longer to cast spells the same as taking twice as long to cast them? I mean one second spells take two seconds with migrane so that's technically taking twice as long right or am I missing something?Highway Man 07:58, 2 February 2008 (UTC) nope, thats it83.249.119.162 11:09, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Pretty much, the only difference comes when multiple casting speed effects come into play. If an enemy monk is using Healer's Boon to cast 50% faster and you used Migraine on them, the result would be a monk casting spells 50% slower because (-50% + 100% = +50%). If it just said double speed, you might think that the enemy monk is casting spells at 1/2 regular time, and doubled it would just put them at regular 1.0 speed, which is not the case. - Elder Angelus 15:42, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- To clarify: Elder is wrong. his first calc isnt right, the second applies to both cases. Everything in Guild Wars involving percentages stacks multiplicatively. 91.16.144.218 15:29, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
so.....meteor shower would take a hefty 10 seconds to cast lol
Note[edit]
The note says "The weaker non-elite form of this hex, Arcane Conundrum..." but to my mind, Frustration is the non-elite form of this since AC is AoE. I know Frustration does damage when interrupting and has a faster cast which Migraine doesn't do but imo this is less of a change than being AoE. Plus the duration/recharge match. 81.109.190.169 18:29, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
LETHAL SKILL[edit]
This skill can be a great shut down against casters at jade quarry. Migraine > conjure ninghtmare > leech signet, powerspike, signet of disruption and distraction and etherfeast. --Szarkz 06:21, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
WAIT WAIT DOOD, PB/PD and be good...--Silven 06:18, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
- I don't get why people bother running interrupts with this (since, y'know, Illusion has no good ones). You can just put it on a caster and cover it (Illusion does have a shitton of good cover hexes) and they stop being effective; running ints on top of that is like running Faintheartedness so you can Disarm people. — Raine Valen 0:36, 8 Aug 2010 (UTC)
- ttgr ran migraine mesmers with dshot for awhile in factions. -Auron 00:39, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
Attack skills[edit]
How does this interact with attack skills that have activation times? The note does not specify, other attack skills do not have activations to lengthen. It's suspicious. –~=Ϛρѧякγ (τѧιк) ←♥– 22:37, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
- It doesn't. — Raine Valen 22:50, 20 Nov 2010 (UTC)
