How do you death lvl off the spiders? Red Qyeen
- Go outside of the Barradin Estate, attack a spider near the res shrine, and let it kill you repeatedly. If there's not any spiders nearby just rezone and try again. Also, please sign your contributions next time. Adamus Marden 02:43, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry bout not signing new to adding to Wiki and i know that part but only doing one at a time seems like it would take forever Red Qyeen
- It does take forever, especially once you get to lvl 16+ since you have to allow the spider to kill you so many times for you to gain any experience from killing it. You can try to draw more than one at a time to the shrine, but they have to be close enough to begin with that they won't wander out of aggro range while you are resurrecting. -- Wyn talk 15:42, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

can these?[edit]
can these be but in the menagerie or do you need to get the egg thing? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Auren X (talk).
- What? Lacking some comprehensive reading, eh? Read again: "This article is about the ranger arachnid. For the charmable animal, see Moss Spider.'" MithTalk 00:26, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- well they can be charmed...or used to be...Auren X 03:39, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

- It's true. Years ago, these used to be charmable. Then they weren't. Now there's the egg. I don't know what happened to the ones that had already been charmed when they went uncharmable. --RoyHarmon 14:54, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- They were never charmable. There was a rumor that they were charmable, but it was not true, and I believe is related to all those old alt+F4 "get 20k gold!" rumours. I knew several people who tried to tame Moss Spiders - it did not work. Allow me to quote the September 2005 Guildwiki: "These Moss Spiders cannot be tamed as Pets by using the Charm Animal (Ranger) skill." I did not add the emphasis - they did. The moss spiders are rangers, and therefore have a profession. Pets cannot/do not/did not have professions, even back in 2005 when men were men, women were women and large furry creatures from beyond the Wall were large furry creatures from beyond the Wall. Unless someone from Anet can confirm they were charmable for the first month or something, I don't think there's any basis in fact to this rumor. --Isolina 17:39, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Purpose of the Moss Spider enemies in Pre-Searing Ascalon?[edit]
What is the purpose of these Level 2 Ranger mobs that spawn in pre-searing? They don't seem to drop anything special. They don't seem to be involved in any pre-searing quests too. They also can't be farmed for Spider Legs and Spider Webs.
