I added an "Otheruses" tag pointing to latency. No article there yet, but it seemed a reasonable name for the alternate usage of ping. --- Barek (talk • contribs) - 17:36, 26 February 2007 (EST)

I just largely rewrote it; I changed the latency link to the relevent article on wikipedia since we don't have one and added a link to the preformance monitor dot, that should be sufficient. Also, I found this line: "Called targets will also produce a red ping when first called, but will continue to chime with repeated calls." which I'm removing for the moment as it's not what I've observed, but I'll test it when I get home and see. --Star Weaver 21:48, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
