Picture of Pets[edit]

I think it would be nice to have a picture of this pet and all other pets cause I like to have big pets so could some people post pics of fully grown pets to the descusion pages of pets. That would realy be nice thanks if you can.Tycars125 10:52, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

More pictures the merrier! Maybe post this suggestion on this talk page to get more people to see your suggestion? — Eloc 02:50, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Funny Thing[edit]

I think this came (sort of) from The Golden Compass. I saw my friend's polar bear named Iorek Byrnison, and I asked him where he charmed it. He said outside Boreal Station, and I said, "Just like Lord Boreal!!!" and we laughed. It might have something to do with the book xD. Bisurge 04:20, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Or it could be just a coincidence since the word boreal means "related to the north". The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.138.72.193 (talk • contribs) at 22:08, 27 July 2008 (UTC).
Generally ANet tends to include many references to other books, films and games in guild wars. So it's almost definitely a reference to the book. Laurielegit 15:20, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
*cough* Ever heard of the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights)?

Drops[edit]

I saw a Polar Bear getting killed by some Jotun's and it dropped a Bottom Right Map Piece.. Is that known of? PLZ CLICK HERE ^Teo^ 11:30, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

I had that exact same thing happen. Looks like charmable animals can drop quest-related items. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.138.4.79 (talk).
Any creature can drop festival items (alcohol, candy & party) and (apparently) map pieces (as long as there is a festival event going on or they've been killed in an area where such items would normally drop). --NIN37 00:36, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Is there confirmation[edit]

that polar bears deal blunt damage? I saw it posted on the Animal companion page and was curious about it. Cedave 00:50, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Good try, shoulda had Charm Animal on me. --iRathur 06:53, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

The same thing happens quite often with tigers in Drazach Thicket, among other places. I'm not sure if it's known what causes the bug. ··· cedave 11:32:09 CSUTC 28/03/24
I wish i had charm animal on me that time in pre when there was a charr called "Warthog" 205.250.13.220 01:49, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

I had it once with a Mursaat on the Thunderhead Keep Mission.

Here's another one:

This guy in bjora marches was using the same skills as a Jotun Skullsmasher. 118.209.214.25 09:47, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

If you can find polar bears ...[edit]

... does that mean that the Far Shiverpeaks are near to the north pole? Perhaps it's what that huge mountain on the map is ... – NuclearDuckie 12:02, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Not nearer to the pole than the Charr Homelands, unless my in-game compass is borked. --Manassas User Manassas Mannysig.png 12:10, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
