Talk:Preparation

Should the list criteria be changed so that only ranger preparations are included? Right now Corrupted Breath (used by Kuunavang) is included as well. Further, is it even possible to filter what's included in the list in this way? totte 13:08, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Possible, but not desirable. This is a general overview. Backsword 13:14, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
The problem is the note saying preparations are "unique to the ranger profession". Erasculio 13:19, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

random thought...[edit]

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a preparation that caused arrows to inflict disease??? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 208.92.184.201 (talk).

So it'd be like an Apply Poison that automatically spread itself to the whole party? I sense balance issues. :/ – Emmett 04:29, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

- balance issues? like not being as effective or costing too much?

Probably not. Rangers already have: Burning, bleeding, poison, criple, and blind. Plus, all thats not including traps/pet attacks. Don't really need Disease. Plus, disease spreads to all things of the same type. So its basically apply posion, but on everything(Yes, Emmett just said that. oh well)24.233.254.51 04:37, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh well, just a thought. I was thinking that affecting a large party of the same type would just be a good way to do a lot of damage to a group...

If you wanted to sit there all year waiting for them to die. Disease is weak. Degen is not a good way to kill things, and definitely shouldn't be used in PvE. It's only passable in certain PvP situations where the ranger can reliably shut down key healing or defense skills and let the enemy die slowly, but in 8v8 PvP or any PvE setting, waiting for degen to kill is going to keep you waiting for a long damn time. -Auron 13:51, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Ever notice the duration and recharge quirk?[edit]

On fixed duration preparations, except for the Jundu one, the duration and recharge is a multiple of 12 seconds. Anyone know why? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 12.73.103.125 (talk).

For the same reason everything uses a multiple of 5 for energy, in other words... because ArenaNet said so. ~FarloUser Farlo Triad.pngTalk 23:33, 28 August 2011 (UTC)
