Does this give access to all skills from all campaigns for PvP? More importantly, does this include the skills from Eye of the North? -- Hercanic 16:55, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Will it give me Heroe's Battle and Alliance Battle? I would like to know the exact same thing Hercanic is asking, all skills from all the campaigns for PvP?--ShadowFog 15:21, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Gladiator's Arena[edit]

I was looking at http://www.guildwars.com/images/products/extras/skillitempacks/pvpaccesskit.gif from http://www.guildwars.com/products/extras/skillitempacks/default.php and I was wondering if we can really access the gladiator arena with this expansion pack. You can see it on the picture just below the Hero Battle location. Vezz 04:17, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

PvP Character Slots[edit]

Does this give you any character slots? (I already have all the campaigns, like most people I guess) josəph 21:39, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

You get 4 slots if you use it to make a new account. My guess is you get 0 extra if you add it to an existing account. Biscuits User Biscuits sig.png 21:56, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks - I figured that - it would be worth buying if there were 2 slots at least (as I've unlocked practically everything) josəph 22:44, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

yeah but you already have access to the campaigns...it would be pointless to get the pvp access kit since u can do all the pvp things--Justice 19:08, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

Been ages since I looked at this article. True, Justice. At the time, I was calculating the cost of character slots versus the cost of this upgrade. 2 extra slots would have made it worthwhile, but since asking the initial question, it looks like the article has evolved into a more thorough explanation. Thanks. – josəph 09:24, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Unusual question related to this and more theoretical than anything since I wouldn't expect anyone to be going to use their money to test it, but anyway... If one were to get the PvP Access Kit first (giving you 4 Character Slots being a new account) then grab the three Campaigns which normally add 2 Character slots when combined to an existing account, would it be possible to get 10 Character Slots in this way (PvP 4 + Prophecies 2 + Factions 2 + Nightfall 2 = 10) or would the first Campaign added not grant additional Character Slots and still leave you with 8 ((PvP 4 + Prophecies 0) + Factions 2 + Nightfall 2 = 8)? Roleplaying Characters[edit]

Are the unlocked skills available for use on RP characters like unlocked skills normally are? (i.e., if I unlock, say, Patient Spirit with Balthazaar faction, would a non-EOTN roleplay monk be able to learn Patient Spirit from a skill trainer? Or would this be impossible because I couldn't access an EOTN skill trainer?) 98.221.236.202 16:20, 17 August 2008 (UTC)JW

Yes, although I suspect you would only be able to learn Patient Spirit from a skill trainer in Eye of the North. You could also use a Skill Tome. Biscuits User Biscuits sig.png 13:19, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
No, you can only use tomes to learn unlocked skills if you own the campaign; this pvp access kit is not enough. --76.114.80.153 08:24, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

It's just a joke[edit]

Forget it, it's just a joke by Anet. No serious PvP-only player would bother buying this, and then have to either grind for months to get everything or pay an additional USD60 (add all the skill and item unlock packs) for a total of about USD80. They'll stick to playing other games where you need to "grind" for at most _5_ minutes to get access to all weapons and stuff. I think they'd get many more players if they raised the price a bit and unlocked _everything_. I doubt Counter Strike players would want to go around with a MP5 for days till they get enough faction to unlock a Scout, then yet more days to unlock an AWP (going by percentage of everything unlocked). They want to fight other players, not fight the game. Guild Wars is best for PvE players who do some PvP.

This can also be used as an upgrade, if you don't want to unlock everything little by little. I'm just a casual PvP'er myself, but I have unlocked all skills and upgrades with Balthazar faction, and I had fun while grinding faction in RA or whatever. Also, I do not see this as a joke, but as a way for ANet to make profit with it. And finally, comparing to g'old Counter-Strike is bad example. Comparing this upgrade to games like WoW where you have to grind for months to GET to PvP level, and then months MORE to gain that gear everyone uses in PvP and you have no chance without it. Guild Wars isn't WoW. Care to try again? ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 10:26, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
I am fully aware of that, but sadly, it's the one of the only games GW can be even remotely be compared to. I have no experiences from games like Everquest or any other good MMORPGs (yes, some say that GW isn't MMORPG, but still), so I'm not going to talk about them here. Mediggo 10:53, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
You hardly need to unlock everything. There are usually like 5 viable elites and 20 viable other skills for each class. Someone who just bought a fresh account shouldn't be trying to play 15 different roles anyway. I don't know what game you have been playing that gives you access to all content after 5 minutes. Yes there are games with nothing locked initially such as Counterstrike, but that's a pretty bloody different game. Misery 10:30, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

No benefit?[edit]

If an account already has access to all of the campaigns, purchasing this kit gives no benefit, since the account already has the ability to unlock everything available for use on PvP characters and heroes.

It does not provide anything, or it provide a free 60 (20+20+20) unlocks on skills and items? —Faalagorn/ 23:42, 22 May 2009 (UTC).

Dumb question[edit]

Are PvP Access Kit open access to the TA / HA for example? --Novodvorskaya V 04:14, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Yes, that's the whole point of it. But you have to unlock them via RA first, as usual. Biscuits User Biscuits sig.png 08:30, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Access to FA/JQ/AB?[edit]

I'm assuming that as a possible stand-alone game, this has all access the the PvP Isle? So it should have access to Great Temple of Balthazar and Isle of Nameless? So does that mean, as a stand-alone, characters will be able to access FA/JQ/AB as well? I want a friend to try out GW's PvP, and thought this PvP Kit might be a good way to start it off? 74.87.20.78 07:11, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

Guild hall[edit]

Didn't they added Guild register in Great temple of Balthazar? If they did, that means PvP only players can make guild from now on.Branimir 21:42, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

I removed the part about pvp characters can't make a guild because they can.Branimir 21:44, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

Transferring Purchase[edit]

Hey all, I was just wondering, if you install this PVP kit on one computer and want to move it to another, are you able to back-up the whole pack onto a USB drive with enough GB to hold it and then transfer it to the other computer? Or is it just stuck on the computer you installed it on?

Well its an account add on / a new account - both of which are stored entirely on ArenaNet's server. Your Guild Wars game client only displays the information on the server, so it won't make any difference which computer you "install" it on. Provided you have a game client on your new pc you can play guild wars (download the client for free from http://www.guildwars.com/support/downloadclient/). -Chieftain Alex 19:55, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
I should add the only things that your pc stores locally are the .dat file, and saved skill/equipment templates. You could copy those onto the usb. -Chieftain Alex 19:58, 15 April 2013 (UTC)

Thank you very much man- I was hovering over the purchase option hoping someone would respond to this.
