When is a Boss not a Boss

Per Rotscales page, he is not counted as a boss... yet he drops a unique item and he's on the boss bounty... MrPaladin 17:06, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

Note that it's "Zaishen Bounty", not "Zaishen Boss Bounty". Ilsundur and Rragar are both also not bosses. - Tanetris 17:12, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

70 Coppers?

It has been the thought for a while that the bountys are slim on the coins, especially when you consider the locations of the target. MrPaladin 18:00, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, the dungeon bosses specifically, you get less coins from beating them on normal mode even though it takes longer and is harder to get to them then some of the other bosses on hard mode like Kunvie Firewing for example, I think the dungeon bosses should give a lot more coins(at least twice as much as they do now).(marsc 18:30, 4 May 2009 (UTC))

Let's not forget that dungeon bosses also have dungeon chest rewards which can be very valuable if you get lucky, plus usually rep points and decent extra cash (1.5p) as rewards. They also fill pages in dungeon books. 216.114.234.182 16:33, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Compare it to todays PvP-Z-Quest offered: Win 2 matches in AB (base goal, 25 coins) and win a match with 200 points difference (1st bonus, 50 coins) and you already got more coins than for killing Rotscale in HM. Not to mention the 100 coins you'd get for winning 6 AB matches, but here they're probably paying you for the time you have to wait to get into AB.

Wow, I was about to go do this until I saw the reward, this boss cost me a lot of gold from that nearby shrine to get my dp up enough to keep fighting after I died repeatedly, not worth 70 copper. Eive_Windgrace 04:02, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Rotscale!!!

Obviously the most hated "boss" in the game by non farmers...

Actually, in NM just now he didn't cause me too much trouble. Came from Druid's too, with just two lvl 12 henchmen for cannon fodder, a protection monk, a dervish packing some holy damage and, most importantly in this, a decent shutdown mesmer hero. I used burning and bleeding to counter his natural regen, and some fire damage, and he went down without much trouble. Only one party wipe, when the smoke phantoms jumped me in the neck, but that shouldn't have been necessary.

The group around him didn't form too much trouble: nuked them on my own, savannah heat, EVAS, run out of agro range a bit. Guerilla tactics :) Rotscale only dealt severe damage two or three times... He wasn't so brave when he couldn't use his necro spells, and he didn't have his friends around. Twam Valandil 94.209.65.245 20:12, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Bug?

On the page it says that there's a bug for not showing a marker to him once in Majesty's... Is this really a bug I have done many zbountys and don't ever remember there being a marker guiding me to boss (Rocktail comes to mind) so unless someone says otherwise tommorow I am going to remove this tag. Temple of Ages

I'm sure this is probably common knowledge, but it is helpful to know that you can get to Rotscale from the Temple of Ages. In my opinion it is a lot easier than trying to get there from The Wilds, mainly because you can have a party of 8 (rather than just 6 at The Wilds) and there seems to be fewer enemies. Coming from The Wilds in hard mode is just a pain with all the spiders and moss scarabs. Of course, maybe I'm just that noobish :P --FasterThanC 20:20, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

Hearts of the north

Quest should be a joke now that you have hearts of the north. Should be able to easily solo him now.
