Bug introduced in Embark Beach Update[edit]

Quite apparently you cannot see the first or last rune in the buying screen of any rune trader; this started right after the Embark Beach update and to date has not been fixed (yet). 93.104.158.200 00:32, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Invalid Rune?[edit]

When I try to sell my Rune of Minior Vigor the trader, a message window pop's up and simply say's "The trader does not wish to buy this item". Does any one know why this happens?

The Minor Vigor you get as a quest reward in Kamadan cannot be sold to the trader. Sirocco 02:01, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
I'm having this problem with any minor vigor rune. Aminalover84 08:00, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Dervish Runes[edit]

Somethin wierd is going on. At my GHs trader, it will only sell a few derv runes. I dont mean its out of stock, its that they dont show up. I went to Kamadan to see if it was the same there, and its the same. I have a pic, if anyone needs proof =P

I'm having the same problem, though I wonder if it's because of the Derv overhaul.--Ph03n1x 19:36, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

Rune Trader in TA.[edit]

Fixed the page to show that it is there. --iRathur 06:45, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

The trader refuses to buy that item[edit]

? No further reason given. Tried several major runes. Could it be because they're all listed as 100Gold when you BUY one?--User Cyberman Mastermind Sig.gif Cyberman 14:26, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Rune trader economics?[edit]

It would be helpful to players like myself if some statistics were compiled about rune trader sell/buy prices and the relation between the two. It says on this page that it's a good idea to salvage a rune if it is worth half the salvage item price or more, but (1) that neglects the cost to salvage the rune (16 g, I think) and (2) the rune trader will not list prices for runes attached to salvage items, and buying price may differ significantly from selling price (notably for common/low demand runes, which can be bought for 100 g but sell for only 25 g, the few times I've tried).

I would like to see something similar to present drop rate tables elsewhere, with rune/insignia rarity, price to buy, and price to sell listed. Asterai 00:08, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

I've been tracking stats on runes/insignia for about 4 months and I can tell you that you just have to keep checking. There are certain armor mods that probably will never be worth more than 25Gold (e.g. Major Beastmastery) and others that will always be worth good coin (e.g. all three vigors).
The trader's WTB and WTS prices never deviate substantially from each other. If the trader is selling at 100Gold, you can be sure the WTB prices are 25Gold. If WTS is 500Gold, then expect a WTB no less than 300-350Gold; in other words, if you look at the WTS price before salvaging you can get a good idea of how much you'll get post salvage.
We can probably improve the rule of thumb advice on the page, but it's basically sound: the 2:1 advice includes the risk (you might break the salvage item) and the costs (16g or 20g/salvage for Expert, somewhat more for perfect). — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 00:19, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
