Talk:Shatter Delusions

I removed the note about recurring instability, read the anomaly note. Weaponmaster 05:08, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

I went ahead and cleared the rest of the note. Shatter Delusions has no inherent synergy with Soul Barbs, as it was only the End-Reapply effect of Recurring Insecurity for a ~70 + 30 damage spike that made Shatter Delusions so nice with Soul Barbs. In particular, multiple 100 damage shatter delusion casts simultaneously. MA Anathe 15:19, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

pre[edit]

The mesmer update has included an update on Shatter Delusions, making it a neat aoe skill in pre for mesmer. Should we mention this on the page?

Wastrel Skills[edit]

Imho, this wouldn't be worth using with Wastrel's Worry. Stick with Wastrel's Demise + Shatter Delusions. Obviously using with WW means no damage incurred by WW at all, but with WD at least you get most of your dmg. --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 00:45, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

I wouldn't use it with either one. There's a window of about a second during which the enemy can use a skill and wind up taking no damage at all. With Wastrel's Demise, for the best possible effect you have to babysit the enemy until the fourth pulse, all for a gain of about 25 damage. --Irgendwer 01:02, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
Shatter is best with skills that have end effects. DoT spells such as the Wastrel's family do not synergize well with this skill.128.119.156.172 16:39, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

Heroes and their use of this skill[edit]

Do they use this skill intelligently? For example when hexes are about to expire anyway. 212.130.113.36 03:01, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

Main article: Hero behavior
Short answer: only if you go out of your way to "force" them to do so.
Long answer: "Heroes know about all active effects... They will not try to apply an enchantment, hex, condition or weapon spell on someone who is already affected by the same enchantment, hex, condition or weapon spell... Heroes have no concept of the danger of hexes and condition, or the usefulness of enchantments... They will remove these seemingly at random... they will not prioritize the removal of Empathy over Suffering... They may remove an effect that's about to end instead of one that will last longer... NPCs prioritize cleansing over other considerations... They will remove minor hexes from allies that might enjoy a net benefit..."
