Trivia[edit]

The other obvious reference may be to the Hulk, which Mr. Furious is the lame spin-off of. If the rejection dialogue is an exact match of some line in Mystery Men I suppose that's the way to go, but I just haven't seen that movie recently enough to remember. --onoes! That line was written thinking of The Simpsons episode that parodies "The Shining." Homer's whole "Urge to kill... fading... fading... RISING! ... fading..." etc. If anyone feels like adding some more useless trivia, I can say that I named this quest after "The Mariner's Revenge" - a song by The Decemberists. I suppose the accept option uses the refrain from the early 20th century poem, "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night" by Dylan Thomas. But that reference is too obscure for our benighted modern minds :D 71.246.148.161 01:33, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
i love The Mariner's Revenge ^_^ And that is what i thought of when i first read the title of the quest... Mavado 05:55, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
I actually also think that the quote resembles a line more from the movie Mystery Men, where Ben Stiller plays a "super hero" called Mr. Furious, and he calls forth his (non existant) superpowers by invoking his "Rage" (Mr. Furious: Rage... taking over...). Sjeng talk 13:03, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
