Reference to the parent trap? --Lou-SaydusUser Lou-Saydus Hail Storm.jpg 16:46, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

I'd say no... the only connection is the word trap, the quest has nothing to do with reuniting divorced parents... you're just setting a trap (so the reason for the use of that word is that you're setting a trap, not in reference to the parent trap). Without more concrete evidence, it's definitely not a reference --174.21.69.163 23:41, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

This is the dumbest quest in EOTN[edit]

1.)The instructions on how to complete this quest are unclear.

2.)Glavin will outrun you if you chase after him

3.)If you have to repeat this quest you'll find yourself fighting hordes of raptors

4.)The reward isn't worth the hassle of having to do this over and over.

It's obvious that you need some sort of speed boost but being a mesmer, our only speed boost is awful.--Worldly Tutor 00:06, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

WTF? I did it the first time, without any speed boost, or any chasing people around. Just go to the indicated point in Riven Earth, wait in the bushes until Glayvin comes along, and watch the dialog. You couldn't get a more basic quest, I thought. -- 166.120.202.205 23:27, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
I just did it and he took the book, just walked off with it, and the quest failed. Just like that. I tried chasing him and he suddenly was immobilized, but then disappeared and the quest was still failed. 65.161.73.245 23:11, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Worked for me. Placed myself and party behind the tree and let the scene play out. Then collected the reward. 85.19.140.9 14:03, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

I agree that this quest is broken. I've tried it a dozen times. Hiding, keeping still, even gone so far as to return my heros to the gate and leave them there. Glavin walks up, takes the book, and walks away. Quest failed, each and every time. Talia Caribdus 04:18, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Reason for failure?[edit]

To me it seems as if you must not move at all when waiting for Glavin. I tried to do the quest several times, waiting in the indicated spot, but moving around. Each time I did this, the quest failed. I tried it one more time an stood without moving, then the quest did not fail. 138.246.7.121 21:21, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Tested it and its right you must not move or the quest fails if your using H/H flag them off the radar as there is no foes in the area with this quest. [user:Max Hawk]

It seems that the markers are a bit off for this quest. I have done it a few times now on different characters, after many failures. When you get to the point that Naveed drops the book, move QUICKLY and flag your party against the cliff to the Northeast, well beyond the green quest marker (star on your map). Stop and wait. From there, the quest will complete without you doing anything, and Naveed will wait here with your reward. Gwynna Vive 19:28, 16 January 2012 (UTC)

Map perhaps?[edit]

Should I upload a map for this quest, I have a screenshot of the map I can post -- File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.png Alex 08:59, 14 May 2008 (UTC).

Sure, a map is always of great help. 141.40.103.193 10:15, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Here's a screenshot I took. Someone with knowledge can add it to the page, if you want to do a better job on the green dots, I have the original! :) Freakerz 17:04, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Can knowledge even be knowledge if it has no thoughts to exist in?[edit]

Maybe a reference to the question "Is sound still sound when there's no one to hear it?" ~ Sanna 10:53, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?", or even, "If a tree falls on a woman in a forest and no one is around to hear it, is she still wrong?", or even still, "If a tree falls on a woman, what is a tree doing in a kitchen?" food for thought, which philosophical riddle that concerns observation and knowledge of reality does this quest refer to...
