Party animal points bug

I think they've fixed the effect this quest has on the Party Animal track: I used three fireworks to kill the Nain and gained 3 points to the title. --Mme. Donelle 22:16, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Range

Should "danger zone range" be renamed to hearing range?

For me it's pure luck if i can scare nian when it's in aggro range! It's f*****g annoying! - 78.27.66.161 13:36, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

It doesn't work if you're merely near the Nian; you need them to be literally inside your aggro bubble to guarantee a kill. As anonymous mentioned, it may also work if they're within earshot, but I haven't risked finding out. --Mme. Donelle 17:49, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

I target the Nian, then try to run into the red ring around them before activating the item. This has vastly improved my success with this quest. 76.30.79.54 16:16, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

After some testing, it DOES seem like you need to be closer than the danger zone OR earshot. I'd say in the area, but the lag we had throughout the whole weekend, I couldn't determine for sure. --Adul 01:43, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Skip note

The note for the walkthrough seems a bit confusing. The step you can "skip" is buying the fireworks from him. You still have to talk to him in order to progress.Kaply

People looking for party

Why are people looking for parties for this quest? I asked a few of them, neither of one replied why, which is why I got curious. It seems easy enough to do both this and Hopeless Romantic at the same time so, are they just saving their 3 firecrackers for their main characters? - Decollete 13:56, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Walkthrough (addendum moved from main article)

ADDENDUM: Just completed this quest, the above may be inaccurate for the 2011 Canthan New Year. (verification requested)

Using Kai Ying as the point: The first 1 Nian will appear east of her The second 2 Nian will appear on the hill to the north east (directly opposite the garden) The third 2 Nian will appear from the south west of her.

Note for addendum: Do not attempt to meet the second 2 Nian through the garden, they will be on the other side of the fence. Also, the third 2 Nian will get very close to the shrine area near Kai Ying. Do not let them pass between the steps and the fence on the other side of the path, this may cause you to fail the mission. Manipulating Nian

Is it worth noting in the walkthrough that you can bodyblock Nians so that they bunch up together and thus make it easier to pop a pair with one consumable? 31.208.29.204 18:29, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
