Talk:Tournament

While technically Hero's Ascent is an on going tournament: when someone says "tournaments" I think of stuff like the celestial tournament, the champion tournies, the upcoming Automated Tournaments for HvH and GvG.
Placing HA into a tournament section is not a valuable distinction for the PvP community. It's just it's own little game mode. It doesn't have tournaments in the way that we think of "tournaments".--Drekmonger 22:33, 10 February 2007 (PST)
- I gotta say I agree. I don't PvP and if you say tournament to me, I think of the "big" ones, not HA. --Rainith 22:42, 10 February 2007 (PST)
- Look at observer mode, when you see guilds playing HA: "Top Guild Tournament Games" - so it's official, that HA is a tournament. BigBlue 23:49, 10 February 2007 (PST)
- And I have big plans for this section.
- My aim is to record the current A.net Celestial Tournament, provide information on the upcoming Automated Tournaments, and (most important perhaps) provide a forum for people to advertise player run tournaments and small a.net tournaments (such as the seal deck tournies at conventions). HA may or may not be mentioned...briefly...as an on-going "tournament" depending upon space constraints. Or I might get bored and not do anything at all to this page.
- But please be aware that in the GvG community at least, no one thinks of HA as a Tournament with a capital T. This particular page would be best not as a definition of the word tournament, but as a means of communicating about on-going tournaments.
- Besides, HA has it's own link on the front page. HA players can find that section without having to surf down a layer, and I doubt they'd be looking for it in "Tournament" anyway.--Drekmonger 17:05, 11 February 2007 (PST)
- The next version of the main page will probably be User:BeXoR/Main Page and it lists ha as a tournament. Besides, Heroes' Ascent itself calls it a "global tournament". BigBlue 22:47, 11 February 2007 (PST)
