Anyone else notice the three stooges in the NPC's? Ooom 16:43, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Missing spawns with Master of Whispers in party[edit]

What exactly happens is that the whole western valley is empty: not only are the mobs missing, but the bounty NPC at the resurrect shrine too. However, there is a coffer in the middle, which cannot be interacted with until you get the corresponding quest Coffer of Joko. Moreover, this only happened to me until I completed that quest; afterwards, the monsters spawned normally even with Master of Whispers in the party. So, my theory: since each of that series of quests can be accepted and finished without leaving this area, the game has to expect you to do those quests if you meet its conditions (not completed already, required hero in party). The regular spawns would interfere with the task of eliminating the Margonite squads guarding the Coffer, so they are removed, and because creatures cannot be "un-spawned" on the fly from an entered area (can they? I haven't seen such thing anywhere), they are not spawned at all to begin with. Does this attempt at an explanation sound right? Pt314 21:35, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

So the reason is simply that Coffer of Joko has not yet been completed? -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 14:36, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
It has not been completed yet, AND you may complete it in the current instance of the area. (the second part explains why it only happens with Master of Whispers in party -- he is a required hero for those quests) Pt314 21:33, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
In that case, the note is wrong then, since the spawn is expected to change. The note should be placed on the quest page instead. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 05:27, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Might be worth a mention here as well though, as this can be (ab)used to help with vanquishing this area, and because it is what makes Nehpek the Remorseless disappear as well, which can be quite important because he is the only boss you can capture Pain of Disenchantment from. (The comment about his disappearance both here and on his own page is slightly wrong.) Also, about the note on the quest page: does a quest being "active" mean you've accepted it, it's shown in the quest list etc.? In that case, it doesn't have to active, just not completed previously. (You "activate" the quest in this same area, and the game can't know in advance whether you will in fact accept it, only whether you might.) ...hmm, these are quite minor changes now, I'll go do something about them. Great! (since you definitely know more about what you mean that me :D) Thanks. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 09:52, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Alas, that theory goes down the drain too. A few minutes ago I completed "To the Rescue" which is in the middle of that quest chain and hence alters the spawns in the zone. I had Master of Whispers in the team (I was doing today's ZV quest at the same time), and yet a few minutes later I met and killed the Nehpek boss. So that explanation isn't right either. Seems worth having this on the main page. I too just vanqed this without having taken any of the quests and found the same scenario - of course that means I can't confirm exactly which quest is the trigger. By all means correct it. Elwynd 15:13, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

I had a smilar problem. Entered from Jennur's Horde for a VQ. Did most of the area, but hadn't hit the northwest heket or plants yet. Then did the mining quests, at the end of To The Rescue it said I'd finished the VQ. Then it spawned the monsters for Coffer of Joko in the NW, and they were the only ones there (and didn't count for the VQ either).Thistledown 20:14, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

Vanqing[edit]

182foes, 47min, vanq/mapping. No challenge here. Lots of physicals. Not much else to say other then try to take down the Gravebanes first. Justice 06:20, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

145 for me, roughly 40 mins. Super easy vanq, as half the map has no enemies on it at all. Toss a pain inverter on the Scabaras and watch them explode. 99.239.202.171 18:32, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
179foes, 28min. For a map with some harpies and 2 bosses, you will think they would rather place a harpy bounty than plant or heket. 175.156.126.76 02:01, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

151 foes ~ 25m. Exceedingly easy area. Lots of physicals as Justice once again noted. Any modern party with some sort of minion master, an ineptitude/illusions mesmer and some mid-line/back-line firepower will make short work of this area. I went with 2x ES & Ineptitude, PoD Healer, MM and ST and had zero trouble what-so-ever even when I thought I had pulled 3-4 waves at once it felt like they were almost harmless. There weren't any particularly dangerous mages in this area either. I hugged the walls and then carved up the insides within a few minutes.--74.96.240.245 15:13, 24 May 2018 (UTC)

184 foes: 19min. mesmer go boom

Changed a note on Nehpek[edit]

Since I vanquished Vehjin Mines without touching any quests and I had MoW in the party, I assumed (based on the wording) that Nehpek would not spawn. He did. After digging through his boss page, I found out there was already a handle on the dispute whether it was intentional or a bug. I went ahead and cleaned up the language to make it sound less absolute for any future players who want to use the wiki as a guide without digging through discussion pages to clarify what should be clarified on the main page. Feel free to clean up the links though, I don't know how to make internal links work. 68.102.196.125 18:23, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
