Template talk:Bundle infobox

I like this much. One question about fragility. Some bundles like ashes immediately disappear, others have a detonation time (such as explosives). Should they both simply be categorized as fragile or should there be two levels of fragility? I don't think I have a preference either way, just a thought. Mohnzh say what? 21:12, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

That's not an invalid point. But are there anything but explosives with a timed destruction? One solution, would be to allowed a third value, besides yes and no; timed. Backsword 21:17, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Right now you can put whatever you want in the fragile value. I do like the "timed" suggestion. I think explosives are the only things that are timed, though. Should it be suggested to use these three values then? BTW, in the first template (non-example) it says: "{{interactive object infobox". Was that intentional, or was it meant to be "{{bundle infobox"? Mohnzh say what? 21:22, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Zerpha ripped my code for that infobox when he made the first version of this, I guess he just forgot to change the example. Backsword 21:27, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Exactly :P Just saw the infobox was finally applied now while taking a look at rc. Noticed you reworked it previously as well. "fragile" is better than "repickable", as neologisms should be evaded anyways. But are you sure that "explosives" can be repicked? At least i couldn't remember that Dwarven Powder Kegs can be picked up after dropping them. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 21:54, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Though i'm missing the "aquisition" and "destination" variables. Most bundles can be aquired from a specific Interactive object or NPC, and "desctination" can be used for "quest bundles" that have to be delivered to a specific NPC or placed to a specific object. Why did you remove them? —ZerphatalkThe Improver 22:09, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Explosives can definitely not be "repicked", but they are not destroyed immediately upon dropping them. There is a slight delay.
Several bundles cannot be obtained from an interactive object, such as: Charr Explosive, Massive Honeycomb, and Ancient Tome of Knowledge. Several bundles also have multiple targets, and can be used for more than just the intended target, such as the various explosives and ashes. If you put all of the targets in the infobox, it might become cumbersome. I would expect that information to be more appropriate in the quest page. I will, however, defer if others disagree. It is not something I feel strongly about. Mohnzh say what? 23:08, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Ah, now i got the use of special description for explosives. It should simply show that it does not immediatly disappear, ok. The destination parameter could become quite messed up in case it has several targets, that's likely true... But the aquisition parameter shouldn't actually be a problem, should it? If it's just lying on the ground, you could also note this as description, or you could simply leave the parameter out by making it's only visible if defined. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 00:40, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Aye, we do not have acquisation on other infoboxes as an infobox is only really suited for single data point values. Full sections in the box makes a mess of it, and makes Anja cry. SO it's not done in the others, thus me removing it here. Also, we have to leave somthing for the article itself to describe, eh? Backsword 11:03, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Well, sounds plausible...also, we don't want to reduce Anja to tears, don't we? :P —ZerphatalkThe Improver 19:52, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Another thing[edit]

another thing: could we possibly change the skill parameter? Urn of Saint Viktor's skill could leave out the "(Environment effect)" for example. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 20:00, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
I noticed that too. I did everything I could to have it not show up like that. Is there a way to use the wiki code ( [[Urn of Saint Viktor (Environment effect)|Urn of Saint Viktor]] = Urn of Saint Viktor ) and still get the skill icon to come up beside it? Mohnzh say what? 20:06, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
I strongly suppose yes. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 20:12, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Easy enough. Parameters for this has been added. Backsword 15:22, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
Excellent addition. That will make things much cleaner. Mohnzh say what? 16:41, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Item vs. Bundle Infobox[edit]

All bundles listed in Category:Bundles have been fitted with the bundle infobox and bundle-stub tags (where needed) and proper format (capitalized fragility status to ensure inclusion in corresponding sub-categories). Can I remove the note on the template page that says most of the bundles use item infoboxes? Mohnzh say what? 20:18, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

yes, as you industriously reworked most if not all bundles i don't see a reason why it shouldn't be removed :) —ZerphatalkThe Improver 20:22, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Spear of Archemorus / Urn of Saint Viktor: fragile parameter[edit]

they're classified as fragile, yet you can pick up them again after a small delay. Should their fragility possibly be qualified as "special"? We could also add a note in the articles' description. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 14:33, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Hm...I would think that they should not be marked as fragile. Did I do that? If so, it was by mistake. I'm not familiar with the Spear, but I knew the Urn did not break. I would suggest classifying them as not fragile, but put a note that they cannot be picked up until after the drop effect is gone (if that is the way it really works). Mohnzh say what? 14:39, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

And four years later... yes "FRAGILE" classification is bullshit. Remove that because its making all the other bundles pages be mistakenly tagged. User Yoshida Keiji Signature.jpg Yoshida Keiji talk 14:37, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
