Serafa of the Mists was an attempt to translate one of my characters from the game Spellforce: The Order of Dawn to Guild Wars. The Spellforce character, named Serapha, was originally conceived to be an armored angelic warrior with flaming red hair, utilizing powerful fire spells while still being fierce in melee combat and wielding a sword of pure fire. (Can you see the pyro in me? :P) This concept turned out quite well in Spellforce and became the sole character that I kept in Spellforce. When I started to play Guild Wars, my old computer had just died and I was getting out of Spellforce, but still wanted to keep Serapha in some form or another. I eventually created her in Guild Wars, first in Nightfall, then in Prophecies. Her backstory was partially inspired by the Greek myth of the birth of the goddess Athena. She was created in the Mists by Balthazar himself and was sent down to Tyria to live in human form. Her ultimate goal was to somehow leave Tyria and return to living in the Mists. However, as I played her, her mix of fire magic and warrior attributes did not mesh very well. The visual armored aesthetic meant that she needed to be a warrior, which from the start placed a lot of restrictions on what build she could use. I eventually managed to make a nuker skill bar that required 25 energy and would replenish about 21 energy by the end of the chain (the rest was left up to natural regeneration, which easily filled the rest of the bar by the time the chain completed). Although this did work to a degree, it was not flexible at all (one well placed interrupt = no energy) which meant that at the end of the day, the concept was not up to par. After prolonging her demise for as long as I could, I eventually axed her when all my character slots were full and I needed the space. I still play Spellforce on occasion and still seek to find an MMO which her concept would thrive in. (I'm looking at you Secret World. You'd better be good...)
