Templates[edit]

Why did you create all those templates with links to your user page? --JonTheMon 12:36, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

My editing skills? They suck. The only way I knew how to figure out exactly how to fix my userbox templates (and how they affected the pages they were affixed to) was to edit, save, edit, save, edit, save, etcetera. Sorry, guys. For future reference, if you know a better way to test userboxes, please pass it on. Thanks Teddy Dan, yo. 12:38, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
I also tried to design them so that each user could edit it to affix a link to their own page whenever someone clicked on "user" within "This user...", instead of always being sent to one of the various "Users who favor..." pages. After all, I am not User-who-favors-ritualists. I'm Dan Dan Teddy Bearz. However, in my latest edits, I simply removed the link, altogether. Teddy Dan, yo. 12:44, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
I can't seem to fix the Usage code for Assassin. Teddy Dan, yo. 13:12, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
I'm gonna get so chewed out for the recent changes page... T_T Teddy Dan, yo. 13:17, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
The reason the user part always links to the category is that a user box doesn't need to point to the user if it's on the page of that user. --JonTheMon 13:21, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for fixing the userbox for me, you sly ninja. Anyway, I understand the logic behind the link, I just didn't like it. But I realized the logic you just pointed out to me and simply replaced the link with static text to make things simple. Thanks again for the help. Teddy Dan, yo. 13:24, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
There's a way to avoid the spam on the Recent Changes page: tick the "This is a minor edit". Of course, that doesn't work when you are creating pages... --talk Large 15:25, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
You see my dilemma. When creating userboxes, one creates new pages. I can't see how my userboxes look on a page until I save them, either. I experimented with my first box and it looked fine until I started making the others. Then, as I was fixing the others, more errors/logic arose. Since there were so many boxes (one for each profession, given the nature of the subject), it was bound to spam the recent changes page. Score one for turning helping into hurting. Fortunately, I eventually got it all fixed with some help. The wound has healed, but the scar remains. :/ Teddy Dan, yo. 16:37, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
However, when editing those userbox pages to fix their errors, I can consider them minor edits. Man, I'm slow today. Thanks for the suggestion. Teddy Dan, yo. 16:48, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
There's also Show Preview. That will show you the userboxes without saving them.--talk Large 18:28, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
Yes, but I needed to know how it would look on userpages, which Show Preview wasn't showing me. I was having some trouble mostly with getting it all to link correctly to wherever it needed to without any excess text. I thought of previewing each userbox on its own page, but I wanted to know how it would look on other pages. Thanks for trying to help, though. Teddy Dan, yo. 02:20, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

WTF?[edit]

Who marked my page as a candidate for deletion? >:( Teddy Dan, yo. 01:59, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

Hahaha brilliant move dawg, mind if I jump on the bandwagon? Morphy 20:02, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
It was a deletion mark inclusion error. It was definitely amusing, though. Teddy Dan, yo. 00:18, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

Deletion timeline, for future reference[edit]

In response to your concern about a set deadline, as it says in the deletion policy linked from the template, pages that are delete tagged aren't deleted for at least 3 days (unless they meet specific speedy-deletion criteria). At some point after those 3 days have passed (could be 3 days exactly, could be a week or more, depending when an admin gets around to going through the delete list), an admin will check the talk page, read any discussion that's there, and delete it if there's either no objection, or a consensus to delete. If there's an ongoing discussion (with reasonable objections), the admin will generally leave it alone until the discussion is resolved. Long story short, there's no need to panic just because something gets delete-tagged. - Tanetris 18:26, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

I guess I missed that section when I read the policy. Thanks for showing it to me. Teddy Dan, yo. 18:35, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
The user box is now located at User:Dan Dan Teddy Bearz/User hates Feminists. If you wish to include it on a page, use {{User:Dan Dan Teddy Bearz/User hates Feminists}} . G R E E N E R 05:16, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for all of the effort. Must've been a pain. If it causes a problem again, just delete it. I really only created it to prove a point and perhaps stir up a little thought on it. I'll probably be removing some of my other userpage-centered userboxes, and maybe that skill page, after a while. Been a crazy couple of weeks, so I'm mellowing out. Teddy Dan, yo. 05:46, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
It caused no trouble to move, so no worries; just a few mouse clicks and the typing you see above. G R E E N E R 05:53, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
My thanks remain. Teddy Dan, yo. 05:55, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
