Profile[edit]

My name is Joe, I'm 20 and come from England. Currenly living in Folkestone, down in the south east. I work for SAGA and in the evenings I like to play Guild Wars. Most of the time I play PvE, but dabble with a bit of AB to keep the Guild faction up! Leonine means "to be Lion-like" which sounded quite cool to me, therefore all my chatachters have Leonine in their name . Due to the pronounciation varieties and complications of Diagoro when using VoiP (in this case ventrillo), most of my guildies and ingame friends refer to me as DL.

Guild Wars History[edit]

In The Begining[edit]

I started playing Guild Wars in May 2006, 2 friends of mine had found it and started playing it and said I should join in. I did after initial hesitation, having never played a MMORGP before. I created my main charachter Diagoro Leonine and the three of us started a guild called Sons of Funduilas [SoF]. It did really take off because soon after we found an up and coming alliance in the for of The Imperial Guards [TIG].

The Imperial Guards [TIG][edit]

Originally I was invited into The Imperial Guards of Cavalon [TIGC], the founder guild of the alliance, and was genuinely accepted whilst I learned how to play and got to grips with the game and its workings. I made friends and had a good time and was promoted to Officer in The Imperial Guards of Ascalon [TIGA]. [TIGA] was ticking over but leader Jade the Red Dragon was unable to come online and play much due to Real Life commitments, so I took responsibilty of keeping the guild running whilst in my Officer position. Then Jade announced he was no longer able to log onto Guild Wars any more, and so he, with guidance from Amadrus X (alliance leader), promoted me to Leader of [TIGA]. I speant 16 months or so in [TIG] and about a year of that leading [TIGA] in some capacity, I made friends, lots of them, but it was time in its course, to move on. I had been thinking it for about a month or so as I got more tired of Leading, and didnt have time to play. So when Amadrus X announced he was leaving [TIG] it suddenly became clear how many of the officers and leaders in [TIG] felt the same, we all decided we did not want to stay without his leadership, and so we moved on and formed our new guild, Centum Immortalis Vir [CIV], 100 Immortal Heroes.

Centum Immortalis Vir [CIV][edit]

Back down to member, and wow it feels great. I can log on when I feel like it and dont have to worry about leading a guild. I've even taken up playing factions and nightfall, campaigns I've never really had an interest in, purely because I've never had the time to enjoy them and get into them. But now I'm playing for me. And I'm surrounded by some guys and girls who I have enjoyed chatting to over the last 16-17 months, so it is all very very good. Currently we are treating Kurzicks as cannon fodder as we rule AB and get our faction up, but there is still time for PvE and im cruising around campaigns and lands as I strive for completion!

The Imperial Guards [TIG] Second Age[edit]

Short lived time in [CIV], but not all to waste. We're back in [TIG], seems it fell apart with people leaving and doing there own thing after we all left. So rather than let the name go to waste, we've come back. Those of us from [CIV] have fallen into line in [TIGE] and those who wanted to stay in [TIG] are in [TIGE]. We also have The Silent Few [TSF] allied with us in our mini alliance. Its not as big as the [TIG] of old and nor do we have any intention of expanding to the size it was. That took a lot of hard work and effort, which we left behind. We're happy as we are. We have also started thinking ahead to GW2 and have an internal application process in situ. The future looks good, who knows whats round the corner after all, so you might as well be optimistic. But its nice to have a [TIG] cape back on my back. If not just to reminiss about the good times.

Lore[edit]

The House of Leonine The bloodline of the House of Leonine is kept running by 5 brothers. All of the same mother, and descended from their father, Vaiyro Leonine, a well fought and esteemed protector of Tyria. He himself served under King Adelbern in the early days and trained prince Rurik into the warrior he was before his valiant last effort to thwart the evil of Tyria. Vaiyro Leonine passed away peacefully before the searing, leaving behind his 5 sons to fight heroically in the defence of the homeland.

  • The eldest, Diagoro Leonine, took up his studies at a young age, fascinated by the work of the elements. He trained under the great Aziure and soon became a potent mage accomplished with control of the power which fire possesses. Though too as was custom with the House of Leonine, for Vaiyro Leonine was a warrior, from an earlier age Diagoro was quite accomplished with brandishing a blade. In his spare time at home he tended to his pets and enjoyed a spot of sport archery. He now deepens his studies into the elements and the realms of the warp, concentrating on mind control and the skills of a mesmer. In his travels Diagoro has visited all 3 continents in the world, though he did not stay long in Elona. After helping rid Tyria of evil he travelled to Cantha, where his deeds against Shiro earned him everlasting praise. He currently resides in Cavalon, aiding the Luxons in their war, but his heart yearns to return to Ascalon one day, and rebuild the family courts which were lost during the Charr occupation.
  • The second eldest, Nikolaei Leonine, found from a young age that he had a strong bond with the dead. A weirdsyster prophecied over their mother before he was born, much to the anger of Vaiyro Leonine. However the curse that was to be has been restrained and after training, Nikolaei controls his power in such a way that not only can he communicate with the dead, he can summon their souls to occupy the bodies of minions, to do his bidding. Though originally feared, he has gained the trust of his people, and used his skills to help his fellow Ascalonians across the Shiverpeaks to the safety of Kryta. From there he too travelled, with Diagoro to Elona, where they made allies, but like his brother, has opted for Cantha as his home, where he continues to help clear up the mess that Shiro had created.
  • The middle son, Numinum Leonine, took after his father, desiring heraldry with a sword and axe. It was obvious that he had his father’s skill, when as a child he knocked down his elder brother Diagoro in a mock fight, which took some doing. His father was much pleased and he went on to rise in the military and aided in the crossing of the Shiverpeaks to reach Kryta and the safety of Lions Arch. Despite its name and obvious connotations with the family crest, Lions Arch did not feel like home to Numinum Leonine. He too took to the seas with Nikolaei and Diagoro, but soon returned when he knew of his brothers’ intend to stay and reside on Cantha. He returned to help in Ascalon, but his travels were thwarted on route back across the Shiverpeaks. But after meeting with the dwarfs this is where he stays, as a steward of the mountains. He patrols the stretches between Droknars’ Forge and Beacons Perch, looking out for any travellers lost on their journeys and aiding them where needed.
  • The fourth son of Vaiyro Leonine, Mattheiu Leonine. Grew up in Ascalon with his brothers, but his father was getting older and no longer able to tend to the fields on the Leonine estate. So he wen to help with the servants and soon became adept with a scythe. Though this was not to be his weapon for many years. He started out in the Holy Order as a doctor to those wounded during the campaign north of Ascalon. And when there was time from the healing, he took up his studies in elemental attunement as his eldest brother Diagoro had done. He too delved into the forces of Balthazar to aquire control of fire. He followed the campaign across the Shiverpeaks, supporting the troops and refugees, before travelling to Elona, with the other three brothers. Here however he stayed and witnessed evil even his skills of medicine could not undo. He saw pain and suffering and his heart was only filled with anger and hatred. He met with the gods, who adorned his Holy Order robes with strength, and he trained in the art of a dervish, with the Sunspears of Istan. He joined their crusade against Varesh and now wanders the lands of Elona with his scythe at hand, cutting down anything that should act violently or threateningly to him or the civilised people of the lands.
  • The youngest son, Israel Leonine, only just survived child birth, unfortunately this was to claim the life of all the sons’ mother. Shortly after this Vaiyro Leonine passed away and Israel was brought up by his brothers, notably Diagoro, as the eldest, who took the resposibilty. It was noted that Israel’s better skill was that with a bow, and his bond with the family pets was strong. He joined up with the rangers of Ascalon and wandered the lands with the vanguard. He helped with the defense of Ascalon, to its folly, but rather than follow with his brothers over the Shiverpeaks, decided to stay in Ascalon and fight out against the Charr and force the insurrection that pushed north into the Charr homelands. He and his trusty companion warthog, continue to rise up against the Charr and try against the odds to take back the lands for Ascalon.
