Taei was born in Cantha, and it was a tradition in her family that young girls joined Assassin Guild. There was no other future for her, according to her family, then being an assassin. So she never really though about what she wanted to do, because she knew she would be an assassin. She trained in Shing Jea, and Master Togo himself noticed her, asking her to go with him to big city of Kaineng to fight some plague. Taei wasn't really interesed in what it was all about, she just did as she was told because she was bored. She had never been on the mainland before, but she wasn't really interested in it either. But after reaching mainland, she met many other heroes fighting the same plague with Master Togo and that other guy from Tyria, and though to herself: "what's the point of me joining them? they all fight, I'll just finish the job if they all die". And besides, many of the heroes she met had pets like she had never seen before, and she wanted to get one too. So she went to Ascalon and charmed Melandru Stalker. She also wanted to buy new armor, something oriental, but it turned out they didn't have armors for assassins in Tyria because there were no assassins in Tyria... That was really wierd, because in Catha, assassins where everywhere... That got her interested in the trade in Tyria, because where's trade, there's always a need for an assassin, to... balance the market, as they say in the Assassin Guild. She wanted to know how it all worked without the balancing. And once she met some traders, she found they were really... well not really afraid of her, but very eager to give her all the information she needed "for free of course, and that's a very nice dagger you have there missy, and that cat has really big teeth and why is it looking at me like that, and maybe you would like some tanned hide for special price, just for you, and just KEEP THAT CAT AWAY FROM MY THROAT!"...
And so Taei found her destiny - she would become a trader! Some of the heroes she met were really nice, and she made a deal with them - they would give her the materials they salvage from various monsters and badguys, and she would sell them at the best price, maybe trade them for some rare materials, and she would keep some materials in her own stash and give them to the heroes whenever any of them needed a new armor or weapon crafted. Of course, her family disowned her, but she never liked them anyway, so it was OK. Now she spends her time traveling to Lion's Arch, to Kaineng City and to Kamadan, she even visited Eye of the North searching for best materials and best deals. And she always has Ragnarok with her (that's the Stalker she charmed in Ascalon). When she's not traveling, she spends her time in Guild Hall, fishing... with her daggers...
