This is an area where you can post observed issues with the AI concerning dervish heroes. Please detail the issues as accurately as possible, and avoid editorializing. Commentary can be put on the discussion page.

Format:

  1. Create a new subheading for a particular skill bar.
  2. Use {{Skill bar}} or the like to show the skills on your hero
  3. State which map were you on
  4. Which baddies were you facing
  5. What occurred.
  6. What should have occurred.

Yes Mystic Sandstorm[edit]

  • Issue: heroes do not use Mystic Sandstorm, regardless of their adrenaline, energy, or enchantments.
  • Expected behavior: Unknown
  • How tested:
    1. Entered Isle of the Nameless with MOX, equipped with two enchantment skills and MS; enchantment skills were initially disabled.
    2. Targeted attack dummy with MOX in guard (shield) mode; as expected, MOX attacked target.
    3. After building adrenaline, MOX did not use MS.
    4. In case the AI was using an older version of the skill, I manually triggered two enchantments.
      • MOX still did not use MS.

Apparently fixed; tested with assassin and dervish heroes and they both used it every time they had enough adrenaline.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:56, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

Rending Aura[edit]

  • Issue: Heroes do not use Rending Aura, regardless of their energy.
  • How tested:
    1. Entered Isle of the Nameless with MOX, equipped with Rending Aura and Pious Assault (teardown skill to see if that impacted it.)
    2. Targeted attack dummy with MOX in guard (shield) mode.
    3. Regardless of having plenty of energy available Mox will never activate Rending Aura.
  • Edit: On further investigation, it appears the AI is actually just still using Rending Aura based on it's former skill description (removal of enchantments from melee who strike it.) MOX won't activate Rending Aura when fighting the Master of Damage or the Master of Axes, but will activate it when fighting the Master of Hammers (due to his being a melee fighter with Mending.)

Avatars[edit]

  • Issue: Heroes will not maintain the updated avatars. Instead they let them expire and then reactivate them again.
  • How tested:
  • Entered an explorable area with a dervish hero with an avatar skill equipped. They activated the skill only after a fight began, and then let it expire afterwards.
  • They also let the skill expire in the middle of combat before reactivating it.
  • This was repeated with each avatar to confirm.

Heart of Holy Flame[edit]

  • Issue: If a dervish is using a ranged damage build (like spears) they will still go up to melee range to use Heart of Holy Flame (and possibly other flash enchantments that deal initial damage)
  • How tested:
  • Brought a D/P build with spear mastery skills and some enchantments (Heart of Holy Flame, Harrier's Grasp, Rending Aura)
  • The dervish will attack at range with spear but will move up to melee range in order to use Heart of Holy Flame. It will then remain at melee range. (against practice dummies in Isle of the nameless).Dervish never uses Rending Aura.
  • Against the Master of healing, the dervish will display same behaviour using Heart of Holy Flame. Rending Aura never touched even though the target has enchantments.
  • In both the above cases, Harrier's Grasp is used at range (how it's supposed to be used)
  • Conclusion: Dervish heroes will walk up to melee range to use flash enchantments that deal damage - even if their build is set to do ranged damage. The main point of using Heart of Holy Flame D/P spear build is the holy damage that comes after using the skill.
  • Solution: Make dervish heroes (and all other heroes) use dervish flash enchantments even if there are no adjacent foes. Dervish heroes that are set up to do melee damage will already be using these enchantments within range of foes. If their build is designed to be away from foes, it should not stop them from using the enchantments away from foes.
