  1. Vizier Khilbron.

His name once inspired admonition, even pride in the people of Orr. He stood as an adviser to King Raza, both men honorable and just. He stepped in and ensured the safety of the city when the King's hands were bound by law, during the chaos of the Guild Wars.

But none knew what he was capable of, or that his hubris would lead the world to it's very doom.

Few know that he wanted it to happen.

  2. In the year 1070 AE Ascalon fell. The Guild Wars stopped almost overnight as the bestial Charr set their sights in Kryta and Orr. Although Kryta would be saved by a single man and his mysterious gods, Orr would receive no such help.

The Charr swept into the country, devastating those guilds closest to the border.

In desperation, Raza called the remaining guilds and their families back into the holy city of Arah and shored up his defenses.

They could do nothing but wait as the tide of Charr as they reached the walls and began to siege outlying areas around the city.

  3. As the city became enveloped in chaos Khilbron took his chance and steeled away into the forbidden vaults under the city, intent on carrying out his mission for his god, Abbadon.

Although he knew where the vault was, he had to steal one treasure away to gain him access, the legendary Scepter of Orr.

Disappearing into the darkness, he headed deeper into the palace...

  4. As Khilbron stalked the halls of the once proud palace he was beset on by roaming groups of looters, desperate citizens intent on stealing the treasures held within. He found a particularly feverent group in possession of the one item he wanted - the Scepter of Orr.

Goading the soldiers to attack, Khilbron lent token support, seizing the scepter at the first opportunity. As he obliterated one of the soldiers who offered help, they realized too late his betrayal.

With both the humans and Charr dealt with, he set off for the Vault.

  5. Khilbron easily ripped open the vault, intent on finding a single banished secret - magic once belonging to the fallen god Abbadon. He had not anticipated the vault's guardians. Although many stood against him, the power his dark master afforded him was too much.

Caring not for the hundreds of other treasures, he searched feverishly, turning the power of gods older then the pantheon themselves against the summoned guardians. He slowly ascended the stairs to the pedestal, dispelling the magics which kept the vault safe for countless years. He brought his prize, a fragile scroll, to his eyes and in a tongue long forgotten, began to read.

  6. History tells well of the events that happened next. In a matter of moments the city fell - but not to any mortals hands. The Charr barely had time to celebrate their victories, the humans likewise to escape the coming storm as Abbadon claimed his first revenge against the agents of the gods.

Arah was pulled benieth the waves, ending the invasion in one fell swoop. Khilbron had been said to have died, gone to the god he so adamantly worshiped. No-one thought of the part he played as he turned up on the shore of Kryta.

The souls of those caught in the event were sent to the Realm of Torment, the corrupted prison...
