Ancient Armor -- 30 March 2010[edit]

I just added my 13th set of prestige armor to my Hall of Monuments. It's my Derv, Celebrian, in Ancient Armor. It was on my list of armor to buy, and I suddenly realized today that I had the materials and the 50k to get it. Now I'm broke again. sigh. Oh well, time to start farming again.

New Guild! -- 31 March 2010[edit]

Today I joined Zealots of Shiverpeak [ZoS], which is the oldest guild in the game. I'm stoked about being a part of a more active guild. The characters of my secondary account remain in [TURT], but most of my playing time will be with my new guild and alliance. So excited!

Another National Championship! -- 6 April 2010[edit]

My grad school alma mater, Duke University, won its 4th national championship in basketball over Butler. What a great game! I was a little bit torn since I'm a Hoosier and Butler is an Indiana school, but I had to pull for Duke. Apparently National championships come in runs for my schools. Last year my undergrad alma mater, The University of Findlay, won the Division II National championship with a perfect season.

Primeval Armor -- 13 April 2010[edit]

Just added my 14th set of prestige armor to my Hall of Monuments. I finally went in for some Primeval Armor for my Paragon, Miriel. I like gold color for Paragons, so I dyed it gold. It just looks cool with the rest of the armor being white. Check out the pic and leave any comments on my Talk page.

Elite Sunspear Armor -- 4 May 2010[edit]

Today I added my 15th set of prestige armor to my Hall of Monuments. Now I'm absolutely broke as a joke. I think I have 1k left in my Xunlai chest and no iron or steel ingots. It was worth it though. With the (hopeful) approach of the release of Guild Wars 2, I want to pack my Hall of Monuments with as much stuff as I can to transfer into the new game. My new armor set is on my Warrior, Jia Xiuying. I still need Granite Citadel Ascended, Granite Citadel Exclusive, Elite Kurzick, Elite Canthan, Elite Vabbian, and Obsidian before I have one set of prestige armor from every Hall of Monuments category. Of course I don't know how I'll manage to get Obsidian since I suck at the Underworld, which is why I have never seen a glob of ectoplasm in my Guild Wars life! Lol. Guess I'll just have to learn.

Adjust & Add -- 15 May 2010[edit]

Today I added Gwen to my Hall of Monuments FELLOWSHIP pedestal and then changed the categories on my User Page to reflect the categories in the Hall of Monuments. So now it says HONOR instead of My Titles. I think I'm now all up to date with the War in Kryta stuff from yesterday's update, though there were issues with the dialogues showing out of order, not showing at all, and repeating what I had already seen. I watched dialogue #7, then saw #11, then #10, and still haven't seen #8 or #9. Weird. I found the whole process of figuring out how to even watch the dialogues somewhat confusing. I wonder how far the story is going to go: to the wedding of Gwen & Keiran, or even beyond that?

Fissure of Woe & Underworld -- 25 May 2010[edit]

In the last couple of weeks I've managed to run through the FoW a couple of times, and the UW once (just a couple of days ago) and have loved it. Dhuum was fairly easy in NM, but it still took at least 30 min to beat him. I can't imagine doing UW in HM right now. I was surprised by how inexpensive the drops in the UW are compared to FoW (though I did manage 2 ectos). In FoW, if you get 30 or so Dark Remains, you're talking about what it's worth in terms of platinum. Drops in UW just weren't worth much. I've done FoW several times in Normal Mode & Hard Mode and loved it. Overall, I thought it was more fun than UW, but maybe that's because I'm not as used to UW just yet. Anyway, I hope to make some more runs in both areas in the future, especially FoW because I can Hero/Hench it in NM. Still, it's a lot more fun to run through there with my Guild & Alliance mates.

Granite Citadel Exclusive Armor -- 27 May 2010[edit]

Today I added Elite Cabal Armor, which is Granite Citadel Exclusive Armor, to my Hall of Monuments. It's my 16th set of prestige armor. I dyed it with a green dye and a yellow dye because I think it looks deathly, which is fitting for a Necromancer. Now I'm back to just over 1k in my Xunlai Chest. Since my ele can't farm raptors because of the Sliver Armor bug, I'll have to find some other way to make some cash. Courier runs looks to be lucrative, and you get 1k & War Supplies with each run. Guess I'll try my hand at that.

Guild Leader -- 21 June 2010[edit]

Earlier this week I found out that the Guild Leader of Terry Pratchet Fans [TURT] turned the guild over to me before leaving it. It's weird because it's pretty much a dead guild. The only active members are me and my brother-in-law. The inactivity of the guild is what led me to move my primary account to Zealots of Shiverpeak [ZoS]. Oh well. Under my leadership the guild still won't go anywhere. I'm committed to Zealots of Shiverpeak. I still don't understand why the founder of the guild turned it over to me and left. Weird. 19:01, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Granite Citadel Ascended Armor -- 15 July 2010[edit]

Today I added Granite Citadel Ascended Armor to my Hall of Monuments. I only need a few more sapphires and rubies to add Vabbian, and then I plan on adding the Elite Kurzick or Elite Canthan. After that I can spend the next ten years saving up for Obsidian. With the revealing of the Ranger in Guild Wars 2, I'm getting even more excited about the new game's release. So far it's looking just awesome. 18:18, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Vabbian Armor -- 25 July 2010[edit]

Today I added Vabbian Armor to my Hall of Monuments. My list of prestige armor is continuing to grow. I only need three more sets of Elite armor to complete my collection of Prestige armor in the game. I also need to add several weapons as of yet, but I'll get there. 20:39, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Ghosts of Ascalon -- 29 July 2010[edit]

I got the new Guild Wars Ghosts of Ascalon book on my birthday - July 27 - and finished it on the 29th. I thought it was pretty good. I look forward to the next installment in the book series. At this time, only the Elementalist, Warrior, and Ranger have been revealed for GW2. But in the book, Killeen is a Necromancer, and Ember Doomforge is possibly an Assassin of the Ash Legion (though it doesn't state that specifically). I was also a bit surprised that resurrection is not present in the book while it is definitely present in the GW universe. When people die in the book, they're apparently dead for good. Oh well. Maybe a physical death really is inescapable after all. :-) 17:23, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Titles & Elite Canthan Armor -- 11 August 2010[edit]

Today I got my Elite Canthan armor to add to my HoM. That leaves Elite Kurzick and Obsidian as the only two left for me to grab. Now I have a grand total of 7 gold, lol. Recently I made some changes to my User Page, adding progress bars for my titles. I'll continue to add more bars as I go along. I have never really been all that interested in maxing my titles out, but I'm going to start focusing on that a lot more. I've already added 1 maxed title, Eternal Protector of Tyria, since my last Journal post. Right now I'm working on filling out 3 Young Heroes of Tyria books at once, which I will turn in for Kurzick points. The missions & bonuses done in Hard Mode all contribute to part of my Eternal Guardian titles, so it all works together. Hopefully I'll get the GWAMM title. That's my goal. 23:15, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Get Your Norn On -- 27 August 2010[edit]

Yesterday I maxed my Norn Title by vanquishing Drakkar Lake. That's a big dang vanquish with over 500 kills. The wiki says it takes between 380-500, but I had something around 530. I maxed the title at about 400 kills into the vanq. I should have called it a night, but with that much already invested I wasn't quitting. I finished around 1:00 a.m. I have to say that the grind of working on titles is not a much fun as I had hoped. I'll be working on Ebon Vanguard and Deldrimor titles next. I really want to see something about how the Hall of Monuments is going to work in GW2 on the ANet blog. It's a lot of work maxing titles. The reason I haven't focused on the titles before is because I was having too much fun to worry about them. And some of the titles-Drunkard for instance-are just annoying. You basically get the title by clicking a mouse button on a drink in your inventory. Do that for 10,000 minutes (166.67 hours, or 6.94 days) and you get a title. Whoopee! Or the Lucky & Unlucky titles, where you just let your character sit idle in a circle forever while gaining lucky and unlucky points during a festival. Seriously, you just stand there! Grrrrr, that's annoying, and its not my idea of what is fun while playing a game. I hope we don't have these ridiculous kind of titles in GW2. The grind in GW is bringing me down, which is why I am so very much looking forward to GW2. 02:22, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

Computer Woes -- 21 September 2010[edit]

I own a Toshiba Qosmio laptop. I just got it in February this year, but the cooling fans started to rattle badly. It sounded like my computer was having an asthma attack. So I sent it in to have it fixed because it is still under warranty. I sent it off last Monday, and got it back this past Friday. The fans work great now, but whoever fixed the fans left 1 or 2 screws or other small part rolling around freely in the laptop case. How stupid is that? It's like having surgery only to find out that the surgeon left his scalpel in your leg. So I called them and they had me send it in again! I shipped it yesterday, and don't expect to get it back until Friday. Two weeks without my computer! I'm stuck using an old piece of junk that barely runs. Thank you, Toshiba Repair Depot! Very professional. In other news, I created a signature. Silmalel User Silmalel SigPic3.PNG 19:46, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
