New[edit]

Why doesn't this forum ever run polls? I'd love to express my love and feedback :-) I've seen others put on stuff like Runpolls offer and I wish I had it here too. Can it be done?

For one thing, this is a wiki, not a forum, and we don't run polls because polls are ineffective in this format. If you wish to provide feedback/suggestions regarding Guild Wars, simply register an account and then go to Feedback:Getting started, read the rules and instructions and go from there. You are also welcome to comment on any of the suggestion talk pages without registering an account. But please do not removed content left by others, or in other ways vandalize GWW. Thanks! -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 00:48, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

Admin noticeboard[edit]

Okay I accept that you are new and as such may not understand how a wiki works. Thus for now please stop editing the admin noticeboard page and learn the ropes first. If You delete all the content from that page again I will assume that you are not just mistakenly deleting the information found there and instead deliberately vandalising the wiki with appropriate actions to prevent further vandalising. First of all try and get to grips with basic usage on this page, for example clicking the + tab at the top will allow you to start a new subject, without deleting all prior content on the page. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 01:47, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

Except he's done it three times exclusively on that page. Even if he thought this was a forum, how many forum users do you know who make 3 blank posts in a row? ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 01:52, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
Well I don't know Shard, he might actually have thought the admin noticeboard was how one gets in touch with admins. As my message explains how one goes about making new subjects without blanking things, I felt that as it was his next post would show us conclusively if he was just new or a vandal. AGF and all that. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 01:55, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
AGF doesn't mean "new people can do what they want," it only applies when there's doubt. I guess you have that doubt. IP claims to be new to the wiki, but is still proficient enough to change his edit summary, which is a pretty small field for someone who's never seen the "edit page" page before. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 01:58, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
He probably thought it was a poll. Forums usually have poll fields at the bottom of the post field. Pika Fan 02:00, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
I have to admit Shard I was pretty convinced that the guy was being a vandal, I just wanted to be a 100% sure and also hopefully prevent many of the wikitrolls from bemoaning that i wasn't breaking AGF.(with the amount of drama around here recently over dumb shit was just trying to not create more.) However as it stands, he has a 1 day time out instead, so if he is a troll, hopefully he'll bugger off and if he is just a new user, hopefully he will take that time to work out how to use a wiki. All in all not really an issue to me either way. :) -- Salome User salome sig2.png 02:05, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

This is the discussion page for an anonymous user who has not created an account yet, or who does not use it.
