sig page[edit]

Note: Per the policy at GWW:SIGN, the page User:Brodly/Sig is not permitted. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 12:46, 22 February 2007 (EST)

How do I make my own sig then? --Brodly 12:47, 22 February 2007 (EST)
Per the policy, the full sig must be within the "Nickname" field on your preferences screen. Just copy your sig from the page and paste it into that field. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 12:49, 22 February 2007 (EST)
I tested that on my sandbox and it doesnt work --User:Brodly 12:50, 22 February 2007 (EST)
You may have keyed something wrong then. It does work, that's how users on this wiki get custom sigs (including mine). --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 12:52, 22 February 2007 (EST)
It did work on my Sig page --<span style="font-variant:small-caps">Brodly'</span> 12:53, 22 February 2007 (EST)
Per policy, no sig pages on this wiki.

As an example, in my "nickname" box in preferences, I have the following:
- Barek <small>(talk • contribs)</small> -
And that produces my sig. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 12:54, 22 February 2007 (EST)

I think I see the problem ... let me rewrite your sig, then you can paste that in ... hang-on ... --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 12:59, 22 February 2007 (EST)
Nevermind, I see in your sandbox you've already fixed it ... had to move the "span" tag outside of the wiki-link brackets. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 13:00, 22 February 2007 (EST)
How can i make it black now?? Becoz it shows as a blue link --Brodly 13:01, 22 February 2007 (EST)
This should work: Brodly

Heh - I type too slow, I had just worked that out. Oh well, glad it's working for you! --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 13:13, 22 February 2007 (EST)
All the helpful people here, Now lets start to make this Wiki better than the other one :-D ~~Brodly 13:14, 22 February 2007 (EST)

My character pic[edit]

Is this pic forbidden?? I just was reading something about COpyright and ingame content, and I dont want to get in problems. ~~Brodly 13:20, 22 February 2007 (EST)

Generally speaking such images fall under the fair use category which would mean you're ok. As noted in other places, though, we (as in the wiki as a whole) are awaiting official comment by ANet (or their legal team) on the subject. Lojiin 13:32, 22 February 2007 (EST)
Sorry im good in English, but i dont understand everything, what do you mean with "Fall under fair use"? ~~Brodly 13:34, 22 February 2007 (EST)
Fair use is a clause in the copyright law. Basically what it means is in certain given circumstances people are allowed to use copyrighted material without the express permission of the copyright holder. In this case, it would mean that you're allowed to use your char picture even though ANet officially owns it. If you're interested you can read more here. Lojiin 13:38, 22 February 2007 (EST)
Ok ty

Checkmarks[edit]

Hey Brodly ... Just so you know, the checkmarks I made for Alesain and my unlocks display have been updated ... you can find the new versions at User:Pullus/Checkmarks. The old ones will probably be deleted as they're now redundant, so I thought I'd give you a heads up.

Thanks for crediting btw! -- pullus Sig talk 13:03, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up, have to love the Word replace option :D ~~Brodly 13:10, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Word replace option? ... please enlighten me! -- pullus Sig talk 13:19, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
You can replace .. by ... so I took the old code and replaced all the images by the new ones ^^ ~~Brodly 18:00, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
In case you're interested my checkmarks project has expanded to the yes and no templates, and following a redesign, they're now being used ... yes always gives a green tick, no gives a white cross by default but can be changed to give a red cross or white tick with the appropriate variables (see the template page). I'm leaving the images you're using now up anyway, so feel free to continue using those or any others at User:Pullus/Checkmarks, but I thought I'd let you know again so you can change if you wish to. -- pullus Sig talk 13:01, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
Haha thanks for the update again, great job! ~~Brodly 14:08, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
