User talk:Declan/Style guide proposal

I think a lot of this stuff is either overly restrictive, already common sense/usage, dependant upon your location or unlikely to be used on the wiki. We also copy a lot of stuff verbatim from in game that conflicts with the instructions here. Also some things are already covered by (or in conflict with) guidelines like Guild Wars Wiki:Formatting/Article names or GWW:GENFORM. - BeX iawtc 08:50, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

You raise some really good points. This is just an example draft. The information here can be changed easily depending on established Wiki rules. I'm fairly new, so I didn't know where to look for all of the existing resources. I agree that a lot of this is common sense/usage. A style guide is just a repository for everyone to use the same common sense/usage. I also found that ArenaNet uses inconsistent styles, so copying verbatim changes depending on gameplay manual and Campaign. Declan 22:25, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Most of us won't ever needed, but it's not a bad idea to have it around in case someone does.User Ereanor sig.jpgreanor 22:31, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
