Changing image names

Please don't change image names (such as the one for the Igneous Blade) -- Scourge 20:21, 27 April 2007 (EDT)

I didn't change the weapon gallery image, I could not see the one that was under the "Equipped Appearance"--ElementGaming 20:36, 27 April 2007 (EDT) so I uploaded one that shows it more clearly.

Zemmy originally put the equipped female image name as "Igneous_Blade_female_Warrior.jpg", you then edit the page to change the name to "Image:IgneousBladeFW.jpg". All I'm saying is can you please not change the file names, we spent a lot of time thinking up names and we would like to keep the names uniform through out the wiki. I also noticed you've done the same thing to a few other established pages. Sure -- Is there a page where the file name hierarchy is listed so I don't make the same mistake again?

Usually if it's just an item it's named after its page name. Also check the formatting guides -- Scourge 00:28, 28 April 2007 (EDT)

Ok, I resubmitted my image of the Miniature Palawa Joko with the name "Miniature Palawa Joko.png" Is that correct?

On the subject of image name conventions, please read the policy located at Guild Wars Wiki:User page regarding user page images, and follow the conventions listed there. To cite the passage in question, "When uploading personal images avoid using arbitrary or generic names. All personal image names must be prefixed with the word "User" followed by your user name (for example, an image named "User Example my necromancer.jpg" is valid). The description of the image must include the template {{user image}}. And I was under the impression max file size was 150kb not 100kb...

It's 100 KB. Also, there is another 100 KB limit on the combined size of images on your main userpage. Right now the banner alone is 334 KB, and there's 12 user bars at 10 KB - 15 KB each... so, their combined size is a few times more than the limit. =\ --Dirigible 19:17, 29 April 2007 (EDT)

The banner was changed, it's now 138kb. I read in the FAQ that file size limits for images were ACTUALLY 500kb

The 500 KB limit is for main space images and such, while the 100 KB limit is for user space pictures. GWW:USER. --Dirigible 19:26, 29 April 2007 (EDT)

(EDIT CONFLICT) Normal images have a cap of 500kB, but personal images for the userpage have a limit of 100kB (assuming you only have 1 image), your total space must be less than 100kB (including images), no ifs, no buts, this topic has been debated on for ages with no resolution in sight so you must change it. -- Scourge 19:27, 29 April 2007 (EDT)

I'm not trying to get around it. As it were before knowing that combined image sizes cannot be > 100kb it was below the 500kb I thought the maximum allowable size was. Ill change it, and you MUST lose your attitude. Ask nicely or don't ask at all. ElementGaming 19:32, 29 April 2007 (EDT)
