overlinking[edit]

As Snograt pointed out: we only link the first mention of each subject. Cheers, Steve1 (talk) 06:52, 25 July 2023 (UTC)

Skill trainers[edit]

Someone (Alexis Toran(?)) updated all the skill trainers a year or two ago. We had a discussion if only the first trainer should be listed or all. Consensus was only first. Otherwise it would’ve been too unwieldy. Cheers, Steve 218.253.212.68 02:56, 24 February 2024 (UTC)

I'll grant that it's awkward having an unspoken rule like that, though. I wonder if we ought to add something like "all subsequent trainers" to Factions and Nightfall trainer lists? - Alexis Toran (talk) 05:40, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
rubbish, my edit didn’t stick.
iirc, you gave an example how the list would look like if we did that.
maybe link to that past discussion here so we can continue there? Thanks, Steve 218.253.212.68 06:11, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
now I get it.
is it the case that all subsequent trainers offer all previous skills in F and NF? I thought that isn’t always the case. But my memory might be playing tricks on me. Thanks, Steve. 218.255.139.162 12:47, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
Oh yes, I forgot how weird the Factions trainers were, with more skills offered in Kaineng City than by most Kurzick and Luxon trainers. The original discussion is at https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_Wiki_talk:Formatting/Skills#Listing_trainers - sorry for bombarding your talk page, Erunehtar. - Alexis Toran (talk) 13:21, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
Hey hi, sorry I wasn't aware of such a rule. When I was looking to buy skills, I saw they were available at the trainer I was currently at, that's all. Erunehtar (talk) 14:53, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
no reason to apologize. You wanted to improve the wiki. And couldn’t know that there is an undocumented „rule“ to it. Cheers, Steve 77.241.229.231 06:36, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
