Goals

Template broken...

Ive been editing my templates today, trying to streamline them and make them far more customizable, and I didnt notice anyone other than me was using this one. Ive added several things that have broken the template on your page. If you want I will gladly help fix them for you. It's no problem! I assumed it was probably just my lack of experience with dealing with templates that was causing issues. If you could help me figure out what exactly is wrong with it after the update that would be great. I was pretty much just messing around to see how the character templates would look and it's only on my necro's page for testing purposes. So for the time being I'll leave it be till I know what to do with the updated version. Thanks for letting me know! Otherwise these templates are pretty sweet, so thanks for posting. I went in and fixed your page for you, fixing a few typos and the like and filling in the things that were missing, basing them off of what you had in your page elsewhere. I plan on re-vising my Character Template, streamlining the code and making it a lot easier to work with. This again may interfere with what you currently have, but I hope that by doing this Ill make the template better than before and turn it into something you'll like even better. Take a look at some of my other templates if you like, pretty much all of them have been designed to work together. My most recent Skills Template is the most "advanced" coding Ive done yet (hence me revisiting my old templates, getting them up to par). I also plan on making some new layouts sometime, perhaps even a main page setup and more. If you need any more help with the templates I have, feel free to ask.

One major thing Ive now noticed is that several parts of the template need some fixing. If a person doesn't put in a variable, Ill make that part not show up at all. That should fix a few of the oddities you were having with it. It'll also let you define what you want in the page for yourself, and not be forced to put things in your page that I put in my own page.--Neithan Diniem 04:44, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your help. As I said before template understanding was not my strong suit and it was experimentation for the time being. But yeah I had removed some stuff from the text thinking that it wouldn't have that section (i.e. The pet section). But yeah, now that I remember how it works it should be slightly better. Im working on finishing up the do-over of my character template, just have to add-in a variable that'll let the template display right when not used with my other templates (currently their designed to work separate, the new versions are designed to work together and separate. It allows for better alignment). When thats done Ill contact you and some others with the updated version so your pages wont be busted.--Neithan Diniem 15:01, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
