Image Question[edit]

Hi there! If you don't mind me asking, where did you get this image? Though I can't say for certain, it looks like its from an anime, and our copyright use rules are...rather strict here. If you could confirm the origin of this image, that'd be great. Thanks! --User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 21:36, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

I had meant to delete it actually but not sure how, as I'm aware that would be in violation of liscenses. Thats why it hasn't shown up on my user page.--Kyoraku 03:05, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Okay, gotcha. I'll go ahead and put a delete tag on an image. For future times, if you ever need an image deleted, just put {{delete}} on the image page, and an administrator will delete it for ya. --User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 00:56, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Signature[edit]

I hate to nitpick, but you'll need to adjust your signature as per GWW:SIGN#Images. Notably, you need to confine/resize the image to 19x19 and you need a separate user image that redirects to one of your pages. --JonTheMon 15:08, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Addendum: no animated images, please. 67.180.237.90 06:44, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

Images[edit]

Please be aware that the only images you are allowed to upload onto this site are those which are owned by Anet, or those which have been released and sourced under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL). Such information is presented to you each time you try to upload an image. Thank you. G R E E N E R 00:55, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Hey Kyoraku! A couple of things: I'm not the best coder around here, and no one gets "angry" when things come from other sites. We simply have to be careful with copyright issues.
So for a reduction in size, I can offer you a few suggestions, and (others may come to this page and give even better suggestions). If you would prefer to read from the policy which has been already prepared, you can take a look at GWW:SIGN
  1. Find an image that you like, and save it onto your computer. I suggest grabbing an easily recognizable image so that when you reduce it to the proper size (maximum 19p x 19p) it is still clear.
  2. Upload the image with the proper naming. I would suggest File:User Kyoraku sig.png.
  3. Change your signature to [[User:Kyoraku|Kyoraku]] [[File:User Kyoraku sig.png|19px]] , or something similar. Make sure you select the option to "Treat signature as wikitext (without an automatic link)" in your preferences.
  4. Ensure that the image acts as a redirect to your talk page. This step can be tricky, and is done after you get the image uploaded and working. Come back here to ask how, or someone may just do it for you.
I hope that helps! If not, just let me know where you're stuck. G R E E N E R 04:54, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
The Wikimedia Commons is a great place to get images without fear of copyright deletion. Most every image there is acceptable for use here. Hopefully that'll help narrow down your search! --User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Traveler (talk) 21:58, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
