i love this UI, you did a great job, a spirit radar would be nice. thank you! Vtxn 08:58, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
i found a bug http://img173.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=133248746_gw002_122_579lo.jpg (stuff appears on my screen and a black patch on the ground that moves with me, i have to rezone every time), also skill number 2 is not centered.
- Sadly, the shadow and overlay bugs aren't specific to this mod and will happen with any Texmod mods, but becomes more likely when more textures are changed, so a UI revamp ups the chance of it happening quite a bit. Another solution is to minimize the game (or alt-tab if playing fullscreen) and bring it back up.
- On another note, this UI is really good, I'm currently loving it :D ~FarloTalk 17:25, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
- Not sure why the new image, but it's the same bug. Sometimes Texmod screws up, so you get a shadow texture replaced with a UI element, or in that case, the backpack icons plastered across your screen. Since the effort to re-create a better Texmod fell through, we're stuck dealing with the occasional glitches. Here's to hoping they allow us to modify stuff without third-party tools in GW2! ~FarloTalk 18:35, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
- Hi all new to wiki so sorry if im doing this wrong:D
- Ok i used to have a spirit radar included in this mod for a while but im a rt and i pvp/pve and 95% of the time i never even used it. It just ends up as compass clutter. Same reason for 50% health bars tho WOH monks are very common. i would maybe add these two separably then you can add them if you wish.
- Secondly im afraid that the overlays is a bug with texmod :( its not a problem i can fix. it happens to me it loads the xunlai agents face on distance textures such as trees and buildings it is very creepy haha
- I knew as soon as i upload it i would have a million ideas haha and i did ;/ Working on a new version so keep an eye out --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Lee Himself (talk).
- You almost did it right, but when you're replying to a topic, Indent one further (By putting one more : colon) than the previous poster. Also, sign your comments with ~~~~. Help:Editing is a good resource for learning the basic wiki language and has links to a bunch of other editing help pages, and of course you can hit me up on my talk page if you have any other questions. Great mods, keep up the good work! ~FarloTalk 17:01, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
- http://www.sendspace.com/file/smazcf . Ok much happier with this one. Few things to say about it. Had to clean up alot of textures to help with reading text. Guild wars stretches alot of textures so its hard to add the paint splashes. Also the casting bar textures dont like being changed so i made my own kinda traffic light system. If you dont like it let me know. Ive not played the demo only watched alot of youtube videos. The ui will never be exactly like gw2 im afraid but i gave it a good go :) ~ ~ Lee Himself
Notes on update (1.5)[edit]
Here's a big list of notes, good bad, whatever, for the UI, and maybe they can help you out with future work and whatnot. I'll add to it as I find more stuff and use the UI. Anyone else is free to add/edit stuff as well to keep it in one place.
- New in 1.5
- (Not sure if because of update) There are weird "stretch marks" on the login screen.
- Possibly a higher resolution (or different) replacement for the empty character slot. When you see one alone at a glance, it almost looks like another character.
- New loading bar is a lot nicer.
- Menu button is nice, but it doesn't really match with the rest of the skin, and then the actual menu is default, looks weird.
- The "burn mark" coming out of the resize box looks kinda cool, but I think it should be a bit bigger and not as sharp.
- ...
- Since Original
- Love the transparency and simplicity, don't try to make it all fancy, it looks great.
- More translucent backgrounds under the paper doll icons would be nice, hard to tell what dark items are.
- Custom backgrounds behind the heroes in skill and character sheet would be cool, the defaults stand out a bit much now.
- The gray drop-down menus (on district selector and world map for example) are hard to read at a glance, particularly when hovered over.
- The neon green buttons are a bit too "neon" and blur out the text IMO.
- ...
~FarloTalk 04:20, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- once again great job on the ui. about the neon buttons, i like them as they are its fine for me i can see the text and the menu button i have to agree with farlo it doesn't match but it looks good. Vtxn 08:58, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for help farlo i know you are good with texmod :) if you like you can have a copy of the textures wok on together if you like :). Stretch marks were from textures that had different shades, i didnt want the windows to be all the same shade of brown i wanted it to vary like gw2 but gw doesnt like it and makes them stretch i tried some variations but no success. I may change the slot image but it took me ages and i was really proud of it lol. Not sure what to do with menu bar as it connects to another texture so reverted it for now. Green neon is easly sorted. im not having any difficulty reading anything cept when looking at people titles when they are in a party takes a double look but doesnt strain me. maybe i just have good eyes :P ~ Lee Himself
- Yeah, none of them are huge issues, and these are just my opinions of little touches that could make it flow better and look "finished". I really love the variations in the panels, makes it look a bit more dynamic and such. If you're willing to, I can give a crack at it, although I'm not very artistic, so idk how much help I could provide. - i don't know about you guys but that texmod is starting to annoy me. i mean i get random stuff on my screen every 15 seconds and alt+tab doesn't always work. this needs an update badly, otherwise i can't play with it. can anyone contact the one who made this ? Vtxn 15:21, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, Texmod is a really old program. It was actually made for Tomb Raider 7 but it happens to work with most Directx9 programs. We've tried to contact the original author, and the last we heard a year or so ago was that he was planning to re-make it. The Talk:Guide_to_modifying_in-game_graphics#Recreate_Texmod page has that discussion and links to a (now dead) Google project that was supposed to recreate Texmod. Sadly it's all fallen through, and with the release of GW2 ever-nearer, people caring has dropped to a minimum. The only solution is to edit the least amount of textures at once as you can, but it gets really bad for me with CME, IGMM, this, and a couple smaller ones, lol. ~FarloTalk 19:18, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

- Hi, this mod is really great but you should make a spirit range circle in the mini map and a 50%hp mark on the group frame. (sory for my bad english, i'm belgian).
~ ~ Lee Himself Ok made spirit range but it wont look good on its own it has to be used with my texmod. Just some general tidy up of most textures nothing new. If you can tell the celebrity face on the xunlai agents tell me and it will make me happy haha. I have no idea how to make 50% bars :( if anyone knows please leave me a message
Never mind :) Add ons completed. Enjoy! ~ ~ Lee Himself
- I'd like to point out that in your preview image for your UI you censored out your name in all locations...except the list of your skills, so we do, in fact, know your IGN is Wreaking Havok. Feel free to update your screenshot and/or delete the name I just posted if you ever read this. :V --Banjo2E 09:25, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for pointing that out Banjo2E but its not my screenshot it someone else's so ill let him know :) ~ ~ Lee Himself
