Main page images

Hi Biro, just thought I would leave a message here as I see you are online at the moment, the main page images need protecting. they were changed yesterday so transparent backgrounds were used, but the new images were not protected as the old ones were. --Lemming64 10:35, 27 March 2007 (EDT)

I hate redundancy ... a request should've been made to temporarilly unprotect the old ones so the newer versions could be uploaded rather than uploading the images under a different name. Should we just delete the old versions now? They appear to be in use on some user pages, but not on anything used in the article or template spaces. --- Barek (talk • contribs) - 10:42, 27 March 2007 (EDT)

I don't think the old images could have been over-written. They were previously JPEG format but now they are PNG. I don't have a problem with removing the original images. PNGs should be fine now that we have ImageMagick. LordBiro 10:46, 27 March 2007 (EDT)
