User talk:MithranArkanere/Archive 1
Welcome
Hello, MithranArkanere, and welcome to the Official Guild Wars Wiki! If you need help with anything, please feel free to add a message to my talk page. I highly recommend that you check out the "Welcome to the wiki" page - it's extremely useful as an initial guide. Best of luck and happy editing! --Santax (talk · contribs) 20:37, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
GWW:USER
Your page is over the size limit as outlined in the userpage policy. You might want to consider moving some of the content onto a subpage. - BeX 05:54, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
Undead
Is there a particular reason you keep changing Nikun to undead? - BeX 14:28, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- Replying to your comment on my talk page, ghost is not a subspecies of undead, it is a base species. - BeX 04:00, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Archiving
To archive, just create an appropriate name like Main Article/Archive 1, then add the {{archived}}-template to that page and put all conversations in there that are +/- 1 month old from latest reply. Remove the same conversations from the main page, add a link to the newly created archive page and done. -- (CoRrRan / talk) 16:46, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
- NP, and you can always respond to comments on your own talk-page, since I always watch my own comments. Happy to help of course! -- (CoRrRan / talk) 16:57, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, XD.
Location infobox
Hey, I just removed the {{location infobox}} from Linkei Township. Landmarks are not locations, so the infobox does not apply. Additionally, that infobox performs autocategorization that should not apply to landmark articles. Thanks. -- ab.er.rant 07:22, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- A location is a place within an area, bein it a whole area or a part of it. Explroables are parts of regions, and regions aprt of campaings. The solution is to fix the location infobox to be use with landmarks too:
- No Exit.
- No party size.
- Place to put the area they are in.
- Category: 'Campaing' Landmarks.
- And done. MithranArkanere 07:29, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- Not exactly. The NPC services doesn't apply. How exactly do you determine whether an NPC is in a particular landmark or outside? What is that particular landmark's boundaries? Almost everything in the location infobox does not apply. A landmark is something inside a location or contained by a location, much like NPCs and god statues. -- ab.er.rant 08:54, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- By "inside", i mean it's not a separate instance, you have access both the location a landmark is in as well as the landmark. I would much rather the landmark be without an infobox simply because each landmark article is already going to be very short. Adding an infobox would mean much less things to write about. But I suppose it also makes sense to have one... maybe create a separate infobox and customise it for landmarks? Maybe there's a possibility of a landmark-only attribute, like what type of landmark it is (village, structure, site, marker, etc.)... -- ab.er.rant 08:57, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- Some landmarks are just a rock or a bunch of trees, but there are others with more NPCs and services that some outposts. MithranArkanere 09:03, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Gates of Desolation and R
Legendary Mariscal (10)
Found that title on your Characters page under Gloriah D Arkangel. Typo? Made up? Shayne Hawke 01:13, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
- No. It's correct. Just the spanish name: "Mariscal Legendaria". MithranArkanere 12:04, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
revert war
Hi, don't start revert wars. He reverted the info; instead of re-reverting it, you need to either start a section on his talk page or on the talk page of the article. Thanks. -Auron 02:56, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'm aware about the non-revert wars police. Actually it was not a re-revert. It was a re-edit to clafiry what I meant, since the user seemed not to understand what my edit meant.
- The note said: Only accesible to characters that mak the Kurzick side (namely Eternal Grove), but he seemet to understand "the only skill acquirable only in one region" that had nothing to do with the text. I've already sent him a message to warn him about his mistake before the edit. MithranArkanere 03:17, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
- I don't give a damn what the note said. This is the wrong place to make such a case; go to the reverter's talk page or the article's talk page and make your arguments there. -Auron 04:23, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
- There is no need to be impolite. I believe that you seem not to understand at all what I've just wrote. You just seem to see two times an user page and and explanation and your 'revert war' flag sprung, but you have to see the history of the pages before that. Give a look at that user page to see the message I've already sent the user before the edit. No answer or agreement was necessary, since the other user was wrong beyond any reasonable doubt. If other users do not agree with the 'shape' or 'presentation' of the info, they are free to edit the content. But if a piece of information is correct and necessary, removing it is wrong. Many players choose the Kurzick side because of Moebius Strike and I added the note because of many threads in various forums talking about that piece of information. Please remember that this is not Guild Wiki and we do not share its policies. There is no currently accepted 'one revert' or 'three revert' policies (they are currently in proposed status). On a last note, please read the Guild_Wars_Wiki:No_personal_attacks policy. MithranArkanere 05:40, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Post Ascalon Guard....
That was me beginning the split, durring a break at work. However, I got called away, and was not able to finish it right away. I was going to finish it tonight when I got home, but thanks for the help! I'll get new screenshots grom the game to night.LeFick 18:19, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yup. When I was moving the post images to the post article, someone brought them back, and I messed a bit, I past the pre-Searin ttext in the post one, but User:Backsword reverted that, and I fixed everything. But there are other things to do. Post-Quotes, Skills... all the information must be split, to ensure no pre-Searin data interfere with the post-Searing. MithranArkanere 18:23, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- I checked several hundred times with the pre searing guard and added over 20 quotes, but have spent little or no time in post. While I can get locations and quotes from post with a nightfall character who has been everywhere, I haven't done many missions, so I can't do much on that part of the page. LeFick 18:28, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- They always have the typical 'response' ones. You know, that one they say when you select and talk to them. Not the random or battle ones. I have all outposts ready, so I may try. MithranArkanere 18:31, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- I just had an idea: can we have a template made up that can post at the top of a page, indicating that the page is part of an active edit project? like the stub template, but list the user doing the edit - so other viewers know who to send comments to, and an expected completeion time, either not mre than a couple hours, or maybe a few days, before the edit tage should be removed. This way, other people would refrain from editing a page that is already being edited. I have had edit conflicts many times. LeFick 18:34, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- That's used in other wikis, but my talk page is not the place for that. I thinj you should check the Policies pages for that. MithranArkanere 18:57, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
