Images[edit]

Images you have uploaded are in violation of the wiki's policies due to image naming, and is therefore up for deletion. Any image that is going to be used only for guild or user pages need to follow a specific naming pattern, to ease maintenance. Please see the image policy. Fall 04:57, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Maybe I should have given you an example, the Image:NOW cape.JPG needs to be re named and re uploaded as Guild_NOW_cape.jpg, and the Image:Now-Button.gif should be re named and re uploaded as Guild_Now-button.gif, hope this will help clarify why those 2 images will be tagged for deletion, feel free to re upload them with the correct format Fall 05:15, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Hiya[edit]

Hi there, just a couple of things to note. Can I ask that you please use the show preview button (next to save page) when editing your user page, you have performed over 100 small edits so far today and it really fills up the Special:Recentchanges page that some of us watch over. Also you should not clear text from your talk page unless you are archiving it. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 21:07, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

OMG I'm such a Noob >< Sorry there shouldn't be a whole lot more changes in the works. User:Mrs_Kuan
Hehe don't worry about it, we all start somewhere :), Happy editing! --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 21:14, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for being so nice about it! Hopefully I won't be doing too much more editing today. I got so sucked-in I forgot to eat. Oops! [[User:Mrs_Kuan|Mrs Kuan]] 21:20, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi Mrs Kuan, GWW:SIGN states that images used in signatures must be, at maximum, 19x19 pixels - yours is 25x27. Also, it states that the image must redirect to the user's userpage or talk page - this can be done by putting #redirect User:Mrs Kuan or #redirect User talk:Mrs Kuan at the top of the image page. Talk br12 ~ 21:04, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I think I fixed it! TY! User Mrs Kuan 23.PNGMrs Kuan talk 21:42, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Signature[edit]

Please sign as Mrs Kuan or a more recognisable version, instead of as Ruby. Guild Wars Wiki:Sign your comments has more information. Also, is the name of ULGG "U L G G" or "United Legit Gaming Guilds" in-game? Guild should be recorded as they are in-game, with their full name, not their tag.-- Brains12Talk 17:53, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Ok, in game, they are ULGG and the tag is also ULGG. Apparently they have recently changed their wiki entry to reflect their full name. I added a redirect on the ULGG entry (since the in game help entry directs anyone to the ULGG entry). I know it's confusing. User Mrs Kuan lil Ruby.png'Mrs Kuan 18:03, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Quick question with a quick answer to clear things up - what is their only in-game name? (Not the tag, not what they are known as, but their actual name) -- Brains12Talk 18:06, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Their ACTUAL in game name is ULGG, as well as their tag. I know because I am staring at my alliance tab on my guild box right now. User Mrs Kuan lil Ruby.png'Mrs Kuan 18:07, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for that. I'll go and restore that name and clear the redirects. Sorry for any inconvenience, and thanks for changing your sig as well.-- Brains12Talk 18:08, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Thank you very much! User Mrs Kuan lil Ruby.png'Mrs Kuan 18:10, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, one more question - seeing as U L G G is their name, do you want me to move the information on Guild:United Legit Gaming Guilds to Guild:U L G G? I ask because Guild:United Legit Gaming Guilds will have to be deleted as that's not their name. (I know it's confusing, sorry) -- Brains12Talk 18:12, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
If we could leave it with the ULGG redirecting to the United Legit page that would be best. This is a guild & alliance that is highly tied in with anet and i know that they would not mind. I am an officer in one of the alliance guilds, not a guild member. I was trying to help by creating the page, when I found where they had moved the page to a different name. SO i added the redirect. Please leave it that way.User Mrs Kuan lil Ruby.pngMrs Kuan 18:16, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Unfortunately, that's not possible. Guild Wars Wiki:Guild pages says all guild pages should be named exactly as they are in-game. Seeing as your guild's name is "U L G G", their guild page should be Guild:U L G G, and should not redirect to any other page. Guild:United Legit Gaming Guilds should be deleted as that is not their name, and it cannot be used as a redirect either. -- Brains12Talk 18:18, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
It is possible, and now you are just being a stickler. This is not something you have to be harping on, so please do not. Just ask Gaile, tell her its about ULGG and Lady K's guild, she'll say its ok. User Mrs Kuan lil Ruby.pngMrs Kuan 18:21, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Just because Gaile says it's ok, it doesn't mean that it is. This wiki is run by the community, not ArenaNet. -- User indochine lambda.pngIndochine talk 18:24, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Once one exception is made, a bunch of people will start making redirects and saying "But, someone else did it". Keeping player guilds on a wiki requires some pretty strict rules to stop the place exploding. Just put what ULLG is short for on the guild page. Lord of all tyria 18:24, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Wow all the fuss over a simple redirect! User Mrs Kuan lil Ruby.pngMrs Kuan 18:25, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Yup. Lord of all tyria 18:26, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
with u there --Cursed Angel talk 18:27, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
As long as someone else can register a guild in game with the name "United Legit Gaming Guilds", having your guild page there can cause confusion and should definitely be avoided. If you have registered that name in game to avoid "impersonation", I don't see a problem with keeping it however you want it. - anja talk 18:28, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
and tell me the chanse of someone else creating a guild with just that name --Cursed Angel talk 18:31, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
The only way that would happen is if they created yet another guild for the ULGG banner, which is doubtful, since GW is at a downturn and many people have already jumped ship for other games (ULGG is not only a GW guild). User Mrs Kuan lil Ruby.pngMrs Kuan 18:34, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
As long as that guild name is not registered by you already, it can get registered anytime by anyone, and they have the "right" to that guild article. - anja talk 18:48, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Well, do what ur gonna do, obviously one little Ruby has little value :( User Mrs Kuan lil Ruby.pngMrs Kuan 18:54, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Get someone in ULGG with a GW account, who doesn't play the game anymore. He logs into GW, leaves ULGG, creates the longer name, problem solved. Something like that. Lord of all tyria 18:56, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
May I suggest another option? I'm not sure if this is allowed, although don't see why not. I have seen ULGG go by United Legitimate Gaming Guilds of Guild Wars (www.ulggofgw.com), and was wondering if the article could be placed under that title. It is more than the 31 characters allowed for ingame guild names, so there is no threat of someone making that guild and having a "right" to the guildspace. It also serves to point out that ULGG spans other games. Ashes Of Doom 20:34, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
My reason for moving the guild pages/correcting the name of those two pages was not because of in-game concerns - it was a matter of wiki maintenance and upholding policy. Guilds should be named as they are in-game, and as no other guild is allowed to have multiple pages with 'incorrectly' named pages, ULGG shouldn't either. Also, the guild namespace is record of Guild Wars guilds, not clans and guilds that span multiple games. -- Brains12Talk 20:53, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Oh, and btw, I have seen other guilds use the redirect. Not naming names, to protect their pages. User Mrs Kuan lil Ruby.pngMrs Kuan 21:31, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
