Welcome![edit]

Hi Rain4est :D Welcome to GWW! I notice you have been building your userpage. Did you know you can use the Show Preview button to see how it's going to look prior to actually saving it? Also, when you make small changes, it's often better to select This is a minor edit box above the Save page button. Many users that watch the Recent changes page have minor edits hidden thus your small changes would not show up. Remember to sign your comments by placing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments or by clicking on the Button sig.png button at the top of the editing window. Feel free to contact any helper if you have questions. Anyway, happy wiki-ing and welcome! --Go to Wynthyst's Talk page Wynthyst 18:19, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

*waves*[edit]

Hello.  ;) Pride User:Pride 03:29, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi :-* We should make template:P for
Obsidian Flesh.jpg This user is Gay.

but I guess wiki patrols would remove it as a "incovenient":-) But would be cool to able to click on "Users who are Gay":DD So funny:-)

PS:-) maybe Regina would support it since she is really cool and free.
There would be no problem with that userbox, though you may want to consider a GLBT tag instead of the more derogatory (in terms of the wiki world) Gay. And maybe rather than OB Flesh, a rainbow heart? Like Pride's sig icon.--Go to Wynthyst's Talk page Wynthyst 13:03, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
I love that idea:-)) Will you do the template or I should?:-)PS.: I more to GW fun then Gay fun:-) that's why OB, but no problem with rainbow:D --Rain4est 13:09, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

How about this?

User Wynthyst Rainbowheart-48.gif This user is a member of GW's GLBT community

--Go to Wynthyst's Talk page Wynthyst 13:25, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Cool, although it is not sarcastic at all:-(
Arcane Echo.jpg Warning! This user radiates a lot of Sarcasm.

But I take it :D--Rain4est 13:29, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
PS. I thought that This user is Gay would be used mostly by heteros as a self-joke, in spite I am Gay:-) I love to joke about it, it makes homofobes to retreat:-)
PPS. Do you think it´s possible to create page like "users who has the same userbox like most template userboxes have"? That would be cool and I could finally find my boyfriend:D

You sir[edit]

Are on the internet. You should get used to rick rolls. There is no policy governing them that I know of. There is however a policy you just broke called Guild_Wars_Wiki:One-revert_rule, which you just broke. — Teh Uber Pwnzer 13:34, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

I believe I didnt break the rule as far as I concider that pure vandalism and that IS and Exception to the 1 revert rule.

Reverting simple and obvious vandalism, such as graffiti or page blanking. This only applies to the most simple and obvious vandalism.--Rain4est 09:13, 24 April 2008 (UTC) --Rain4est 13:39, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

That was not vandalism, that was a perfectly legitimate comment. Not only was it a rick roll for the lulz, it had a not so hidden meaning: spiritway results in anger and chaos. It is not a case of "simple and obvious vandalism." — Teh Uber Pwnzer 19:54, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
I would beg to differ that placing rickrolls on Izzy's page IS simple and obvious vandalism as it has no purpose other than to create chaos.--Go to Wynthyst's Talk page Wynthyst 19:58, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Did you not read the not so hidden meaning? There was a purpose other than just causing mayhem. — Teh Uber Pwnzer 20:19, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Look, maybe you didnt mean it, right? But why are you angry about people who tries to make the wiki safe and clean place (and where is clear they would have a most of the community on their side?)? No, I dont see any hidden meaning besides makeing other people frustrated:P You advocate undefendable and I am really happy that someone standed up for me here.
Anyway, If you want to express your disagreement with spiritway in "common sense way", I bet many other people would support you in that effort; including me. Twisting rules in order to justify your joke is just, I hope, not the way how to dispense your ideas and definitely not the wayhow wiki should work. Imagine that everyone would make jokes like this? I am not a Serious editor, but It doesn't mean I support demagogy--Rain4est 21:10, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Spiritway: it causes frustration, chaos, etc. That was exactly my point, but with an awesome rick roll attached. The meaning wasn't hidden at all(hence the "not so hidden meaning" part). Also, if something you believe to be vandalism has to be discussed, is it really obvious vandalism? Is my comment so bad and less valuable simply because it is presented in a different way? While I know there are much better ways to present my ideas and thoughts, they shouldn't be passed off as mere vandalism. I would also like you to point out exactly how I am twisting the rules. Another thing I would like to ask is how demagogy has to do with anything. A third thing I'd like to ask is what you meant by "You advocate undefendable". — Teh Uber Pwnzer 06:46, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Answers to UBER PWNZER (lol):

1)By any point, spiritway does not causes frustration, chaos, etc. (learn to play)); second izzy alredy post a statement, that he is well awear of spirit ways and he is trying to find a functioning way how to neffer them (adding exhaustion last time didnt help). Adding non sense rick roll will not help him find any solution.
2)No other meaning besides dead end web page that frustrated wiki users has been observed by any other wiki user then you.
3)Sorry I made a mistake (not obvious vandalism), you are not vandal, but troll... which applies to Unintentional misinformation or Unintentional nonsense according to wiki standards.
4)Yes your comment was so bad and less valuable simply because it is presented in a different way then wiki standards. I would accept it on your userpage (and everyone would) but not on izzys page.
5)demagogy is your style of communication.
6)"You advocate undefendable" meant, that both of us know, that in case of any discussion about this issue, most wiki users would stand up for me rather then you.
7)You know what? We are on Internet so get used to it. If you want to report me for removing confusing non-content rickroll, go a head and write email to sysop. Last word from me.--Rain4est 09:13, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Sorry for not responding, I forgot all about this conversation.
1) If it doesn't cause any frustration, why is there so many complaints about it?
2) Do you think I found out about that type of Rick Roll by googling "page end rick roll" or something similar? I didn't, I got fooled by it somewhere on the wiki before. Eventually that one went down and I did google it, though.
3) We are not Wikipedia.
4) See above, different standards.
5) I don't see how. It may just be because I don't completely understand the concept, though.
6) Popularity means nothing. Policy is what matters, and if I am breaking a Guild Wars Wiki policy (not wikipedia), please point it out to me.
7) If you expect me to just get used to it, I expect you to do the same about being rick roll'd.
About my name: lol, yeah, I know its a really dumb name and all. It started when I was a nub who just beat nf the first time. A friend I had enjoyed chest running and so we would run chests a lot in DoA. Almost every time he would shout "WERE TEH UBER PWNZERS!!!!!!" at least once. So one day, as a joke I made a character named Teh Uber Pwnzer and it just stuck. — Teh Uber Pwnzer 09:45, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi,
first I want to point out, that my points (1...7) were answers to your questions in your post above. They were NOT statemtemts in general, you need to know context.
1)no comment on "frustration". If it helps you, I may create antispirit guide for players, that feel really powerless against spirit ways + as I said, izzy knows about it (you didnt comment that fact)
2)I dont care, where that Rick Roll came from, nor didnt people that would enter it.
3)I didnt say we are. It was simply my opinion. Since we are not Wikipeadia, we treat Trolls as Vandals. That is why that Rick Roll has been reported by me as a Vandalism and so was removed. If we were Wikipeadia, I would tag you as a Troll, which would probably lead to your account termination. If you were a vandal, it would end in IP ban. But as you said. We are NOT WIKIPEDIA. The reason why I think you are Troll not Vandal is simply that you are trying to advocate your action and your actions were not to harm the comunity since it seems that you REALLY BELIEVE that you did right. But as you said. We are not Wikikepdia, you are not "troll".

Different actions on Guild Wars Wiki and Wikipeadia (just so you better understand):

  • Impropriate, meaningless comments or edits that were not to comply with wiki standards or they add content that is not connected to theme or FALSE redirections:
    • WIKIPEADIA = TAG USER AS A TROLL
    • GUILD WARS WIKI = TAG POST AS A VANDALISM
  • harmful actions that edit wiki content in order to bring harm to the community:
    • WIKIPEADIA = TAG USER AS A VANDAL
    • GUILD WARS WIKI = TAG USER AS A VANDAL.

As you see, wikipeadia uses Trolls to tag users not posts. Here, what we do on Trolly action, we tag POST as Vandal, which doesnt harm user, but only his one specific post. Hope you understand.

Again. We ARE NOT WIKIPEADIA. You are Troll by my personal opinion (and by many others). Here you are still ordinery user like any other user, but only POST was vandal, not you. This is the difference. Difference between tagging user and post.

4)see above
5)no comment
6)I explicated it in my first post here. Once more:

Reverting simple and obvious vandalism, such as graffiti or page blanking. This only applies to the most simple and obvious vandalism.

Wynthyst agrees with me: ~I would beg to differ that placing rickrolls on Izzy's page IS simple and obvious vandalism as it has no purpose other than to create chaos.--Go to Wynthyst's Talk page Wynthyst 19:58, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

I never said, YOU broke ANY RULE; here on the other hand YOU said I broke it. I am only deffending my actions, since my strongest beleive is that what you post was/is/will be concidered as a Vandalism.
7) It doesnt mean I will tolerate total unproductive, meaningless act of vandalism (gwwiki definition) on Izzy's page.

--Rain4est 16:51, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

To start this off, numbers 1, 2, 3 and 7 were not answers to any questions I asked as you claim.
1) That doesn't stop people from being frustrated.
2) I was saying that it has been posted by other wiki users.
3) The wiki is governed by policies, not opinions. Where are the policies your getting these rules from? Such as tagging a post as troll and trolls being treated as vandals? If what you say is true, I will follow them. However, I can't seem to find them anywhere in Category:Policies.
4) See above.
5) Lets just leave #5 out next time :p
6) Once again, if we have to argue (judging by the caps I'd say its turned into an argument) about something being "obvious vandalism," isn't quite so obvious. To respond to the second part of your #6, if I didn't break any rules, then my post shouldn't have been removed.
7) Show me where you got the definition. — Teh Uber Pwnzer 22:44, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Go ahead and post that Rick Roll there again, man. I am done with this. There is whole bunch of other Patrols that will revert it as soon as you post it... This might convince you that we (majority of the comunity) not only dont want Rick Rolls on Izzy's talk page but the we will not tolerate them as we all think it is vandalism.

Images[edit]

Hi there, I replaced one of your images to fit the user image naming convention. You can find it at Image:User Rain4est Cloudofdoomstrike.jpg. When uploading images for your userpages in future, please take note of the naming. Thanks. --Pling! \ Brains12 \ Talk 23:34, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Hope you don't mind, but I took out the |300px thumbnailing for that image on the page -- I think it's currently bugged and didn't display properly. Without it, it shows up fine, but you may want to test it out later. The bug has been reported, so hopefully it'll be fixed some time soon. --Pling! \ Brains12 \ Talk 00:23, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Sure and thx:-) I lot things I still have to learn:-) (Cloud of Doomstrike should really be a hex not enchantment xd)--Rain4est 08:09, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
