Question about PvP

I was wondering how pvp works these days in GW... is there some sort of secret that i do no know. I have tried hard for several weeks to do some serious PvP such as HA and GvG ... I have moved between several guilds but i always seem to have the same problem: in HA for example: "groups look for Ranked player" but you cannot become ranked without a team. So how does a R0 player get a Rank? if he goes with with random ppl and heroes he will 90% of the time get thrashed. thats about 2 or 3 fame points for about 3-4 hours of PvPing. The same applies with GvG: you cannot join a gvG guild wihtout a Rank but to get a rank you have to GvG (and win) most normal players suck at GvG but to join a GvG guild, you have to win before hand to get around R4-5. I was wondering if there was still out there a way to learn to play either HA or GvG without havin to face the masses of high ranked people swearing at you and telling you to go back to PvE (which i havnt done in months). Thanks for this in advance everyone and Linsey :) Before this comes up, this isnt a rant im just looking for some help. It would be nice if it went back to the old Guild Wars were nobody gave a damn about ranks and ppl were nicer to one another. unfortunatly thatll nvr happen:( 83.104.133.95 22:08, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
Either PUG an actual team build (IWAY) and not a randomway, or get friends. Network with people you do PUG with who are cool, nice and helpful. Add them to your friends and tell them you're open for games whenever you're on. Keep doing this and you'll find people to play with. DarkNecrid 22:43, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
These guys don't care about past experience. They will teach you to GvG. HA randomway will get you to R3 with patience and perserverance. Networking and making friends will also get you into groups above your rank, assuming that you aren't just bad. Practice relevant skills, qknocking, pre-protting etc in arenas, make friends, play game. We all did it at some point or another. There are also incidentally lots of guilds that don't really care about past experience. They won't get you a gold cape, but you can learn to play. I actually really don't recommend pugging at all, it's much worse than randomway most of the time. Misery 22:46, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
As a side note, [bond] is recruiting for random BYOB GvG because I really don't care who is in the guild. You can pm Fail Was Misery or Dr J Pianc if you want an invite. We play very very randomly. Misery 22:48, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
In an other attemple to PvP today, i have found that no team will take you for TA HA or GvG without a rank... oh and also note the number of syncers in RA makes it impossible to win without a sync PvP in GW needs to lose titles or make it new player friendly 83.104.133.95 11:04, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
You are obviously lying, because two lines above I invited you to join my guild for GvG. People don't pug without rank because even ranked pugs are terrible. Build a friendslist, even if you are bad, better the devil you know than the devil you don't. I've known TERRIBLE players who kept getting called to play with me in teams because we were 7/8 and would rather take someone who we knew exactly how terrible they were. I read this today and I actually thought it wasn't bad, except I hate pugging so would rather randomway or social network through fansites or friends of friends. A year ago I had no rank, now I do, MAGIC. Misery 15:49, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
83.104.133.95: That kind of advice is actually best found on the fansite forums, where many more people with experience in this might be able to help you. --Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 22:18, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
