Why[edit]
...are you removing comments now? --Lania Elderfire 18:42, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
- If people have got nothing better to do than troll, yes. Trolls should be posting in the first place, I'm merely cleaning up troll posts. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Rendier (talk).
- covering the tracks of your fail and lies?
- What about telling the truth next time you try to raise the community against ANet?
- Oh, right... if you told the truth, community would have said from the start that you deserved your ban. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 62.193.236.96 (talk).
- Look, if you guys would stop being so ignorant, aswell as simply stopping with the fanboism, we wouldn't have any problems. If your parents thaught you how to read, I sincerely hope you could use those skills to read through the guild wars guru thread. There is no fact I dind't mention. Some random posted on quote: "So you bought an exploited item, an exploited item, an exploited item, an exploited item, an exploited item, ", I mean, if the word "tome" gets mentioned over 100 times in a thread, and "monk tome" specifically atleast 3 times, that's your fault for not being able to put 2 and 2 together.
- Or should I write like they do in toddlerschool? I bought a Monk Tome. I used the Monk tome. I got LS and LDoA. I saw policy changes. I moved the character to Post Searing.
- I'm really sorry, I'm willing to lay out my intire story, but it's not my job to teach you people how to read. - Rendier 23:57, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
- If you, in order to make your point come across, need to resort to offensive language and personal attacks, then maybe your logic isn't strong enough by itself. That person was clearly confused by the fact that you didn't mention the tome in your opening post, but instead, for the entire first page of the thread you kept referring to an exploited item (post 1), exploited item (post 2), exploited item (post 3), exploited item (post 4). These are your posts on the first page. Only in the last post of the first page you mention it was a tome (post 5). It took you a couple of other posts to say that you needed it to get LDoA, but you "forgot" to mention that you kept the character with the two titles (a.k.a. "the benefits"). 87.106.215.227 15:29, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
- Some other person said: "You got LDoA in 10 days, that's too good to be true", Look if you got no clue what you're talking about, don't talk. For starters, LDoA on it's own can be done in less than 2 months. On presearing.com, they even posted "speed times", with persons achieving it in less than 5 weeks, simply by doing it 24/7.
- On top of that, I EXPLICITLY explained how I was able to get LDoA in under 10 days. Honestly, I'l cut cook your food, i'll even cut it, but if you're not even able to chew it yourself, that's a problem with you, and not me "hiding the truth". Look through the guru thread to find the info you need. Use those reading skills your parents clearly didn't hammer into your brain enough. By the way, I think I got LDoA in under a week. I dlvl'ed monsters up to max level in about 1/3th of the time it took regular deathlevelers to get them to their own level. So you can understand how I could have gotten LDoA so fast. - Rendier 23:57, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
- That person who wrote that LDoA in 10 days is too good to be true is me.
- Yeah, I've got no clue, riiiiight. I can read well enough, and I can point all the flaws in your reasoning. Care about yourself, it is you who got in trouble.
- What you wrote confirms what I said. Less than 5 weeks doing it 24/7 is not normal. That is a speed time, and it can be believable given the effort put into it. You say that LDoA can be done legit in less than 2 months. That's 60 days. You are still saying that achieving LDoA in under than a week, compared to 60 days, doesn't fall into the "too good to be true".
- Are you serious?
- It is not that you fail to see it, it is just that you can't admit it, because it would be like admitting you knew you were doing something "shady" in the least.
- Compare less than a week (5/6 days?) with 2 months (60 days). 1/10th of the time in this case = too good to be true. 2 + 2.
- No matter how you try to spin it, or with how many insults you spice your answers, the facts won't change. - 87.106.215.227 15:29, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

- To the guy who says my timeline is messed up:
- Pre-Epxploit: Current policy is that glitched Pre-Searing items are tolerated. Anet clearly stated they would not ban people for having or trading these items.
- Exploit: A large amount of tomes are being sold all of a sudden both on the official forum, aswell as in-game. Everyone was able to buy these items simply by walking up to the people spamming in the districts for a reasonable price. But concidering there already was a large amount of people selling, we can safely assume the exploit itself has been around for a longer time.
- People tend to be cautious. Everyone is definatly interested, be in a positive or a negative way. Some trades occured since day 1 on the offical forum. Anet or Gaile have been requested information about these new items, but they ignored the community, so everyone assumed it's wasn't that big of a deal, and everyone assumed these items fell under the currently policy of "toleration"
- 1-2 days after the Exploit: A special area gets created on presearing.com promoting the buying and selling of these items. Hundreds and hundreds of people are buying and selling these items. Albeit, noone still knows where the items come from, the silence of Anet and Gaile was a clear indication that it wasn't a big issue, and hence people felt safe enough to trade. I bought my item during this time, as did over a 100 other people.
- 7-14 days after the Exploit release:: I got LDoA and LS. Gaile releases her new policy. I move out of Pre-Searing. It could have even been so I moved out of Pre-Searing right before her policy release, because I had no incent of staying there any longer, I had already gotten LDoA. - Rendier 23:57, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
- And you are the one telling others they don't know how to read? Thanks for making me smile.
- Maybe you should pay more attention to what you read. When I mentioned the timeline I didn't ask you anywhere for a recap. I asked clearly you some questions, I'll copypaste them here again fro you:
- "So, in a moment of incertainty and doubt, when eveyone is being VERY cautious, you rushed to buy the tome and get the titles?"
- "If you are cautious, and are wondering where all the new items come from, because people suspect the items may be coming from a previous glitch, why rush? "
- "If you think the tomes in pre may be part of a new update, why not wait for the incertainty to fade and be sure that you are not doing anything that you could regret afterwards?"
- There's no way out of this: you either were too naive to see it was not legit, or you simply decided to go on with a gray/shady idea. It is one of the two.
- I tend to believe it is the second option, for what Gaile said(source): "You were active in a forum that discussed the impossibility of such a dual title, that spoke of the consequences of owning forbidden items (which were still in your possession), and that made it plain that those engaging in the dual-title process were liable to have their accounts terminated." - 87.106.215.227 15:29, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
- And you are the one telling others they don't know how to read? Thanks for making me smile.
- covering the tracks of your fail and lies?
- I really do not know how to make it any more clear for the lesser intelligent under us. I'm really sorry i'm being so belittling to you, but all the info I just posted, every single word and letter can be found in my guru thread. 90% of these can be found on the wiki page. I'm really sorry that I leave out unnecessary details such as: "I proceeded to benefit from the exploit after the new policy was released". I often forget there is people out there who simply can not put 2 and 2 together, but I'll do it for you one last time:
- After I had gotten LS and LDoA, and the new policy got introduced, I moved the character to Post-Searing. (This was mentioned over 10 times in the guru thread) I obviously did not delete the character, but I never said I did. (This is also mentioned in the thread, I did NOT delete my character) Gaile said nothing about deleting a character. She solely mentioned deleting the items and moving the character to post. That is exactly what I did. (This is mentioned atleast 20 times in the thread)
- As a result of this, I obviously "continued my benefit from the exploit" as Gaile like to say it, but there simply wasn't any benefit. Having LS and LDoA is not an exploit. They are not against the EULA or Rules of Conduct. (also mentioned in the thread atleast 3 times) The benefit I have over other is non-existent. HoM is acount wide, and I didn't even add my titles to the HoM. Hence I did not have any benefit over other players. (Mentioned atleast 5 times in the thread) - Rendier 23:57, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
- I won't answer to the personal attacks. I've got strong enough shoulders to let go insults spouted by someone raging on the internetzzz. I will tell you what is the benefit: being the only one amongst all the other GW players to have both LDoA and Survivor on the same character is a prestige over other players. If it was obtained in a legit way, props to you. But since the premise to get such "prestige" is the use of a glitched item, then this kind of prestige is undeserved. 87.106.215.227 15:29, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
- I never gave half-truths, I just didn't give every single unnecessary details. - Rendier 23:57, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
- ROTFL.
- * Let's pick one. You wrote "I deleted the item". That is not an half truth. It is a blatant lie. You used the item to get the skill. Deleting the item means trashing it, without getting any benefit. Using it will remove the item from your inventory, and give you the skill, but it is because it is a 1 time use item. You are hiding behind a flawed logic.
- * Let's pick another one. In your opening post you wrote "Note I got banned for only 1 item". Gayle said you were banned not just for buying one item, but bucause you used it, you got two titles, and kept the benefit. That's a bit more than just buying.
- Do we need to go on?
- If you have been banned for having used a glitched item, the item is not an "unnecessary detail", the benefits gotten from the use of that item are not "unnecessary details". They are strictly related to the cause of your ban. And you omitted them when you opened your thread on guru. - 87.106.215.227 15:29, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

- Next thing I know, you guys are going to say I AM guilty, because I dind't mention I dyed my shoes Red, whilst the rest of my armor was Black. Or that I had exactly 24 friends online at the time of buying the tome.- Rendier 23:57, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
- /facepalm. - 87.106.215.227 15:29, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
- You guys act like little children, who arn't given a lolly-pop straight away, but rather have to take it out of the cookie-jar yourselves, which is clearly to hard of a job. And I wouldn't even have a problem with that, if it wasn't for the fact that you guys call me a cheater based on your own ignorence and lazyness. If you're too lazy to read what I post, don't complain that I don't post enough information. Rendier 23:57, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

- I believe (from what i read here and on gaile's page) that both sides have a point. You got two titles which were mutually exclusive, that should have raised a flag for you there, however, at the time (if you are telling the truth), you didn't realise that you were breaking the rules of the word exclusive. This brings to mind another case where people got Rainbow Pheonix's for heroes. Also not against the EULA or anything else, gave no unfair or even fair advantage, but anet removed the pets from said heroes. This in my opinion would have been a better approach to the situation, taking away the survivor title (as it is the easier title to gain) from each charachter who had both and from the HoM. Then, if the person had gotten survivor on a different charachter, they would be able to reinstate the statue in their hall. While i do not know if this would have been possible due to mechanics reasons, it certainly would have been a more effective way of dealing with the situation, and would have avoided cases such as this one. Furthermore, red shoes? If only you had gone all black. Sonic Saturday 12:17, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
- I pity Gaile and the staff team who had to deal with all that for almost a year. 87.106.215.227 15:29, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
- IP, do not circumvent your block or I will lenghten it. I also suggest y'all either keep this in-game-block related stuff concentrated on the appropriate page once your blocks expire or take it back to whatever fansite forum it came from (y'know, someplace you're not both blocked.) — Why 21:28, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

Feedback[edit]
Perhaps I can point you to the Feedback section, which has been set up by Anet so that they can review, and legally use, the ideas that you pass onto them. If you have questions on how to set it up, I'll do my best to help. G R E E N E R 23:32, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
