sometimes i think you worry too much about aspects of this game...sometimesyou have it right. Rangers deserve a headshot skill though :)Jaime 12:14, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
And Assassins should have a signet that deals 3000 damage, with 0 recharge and activation. After all they are assassins. Titani Ertan contributions 13:33, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Headshot is part of Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support. As to Fire magic; you say it's too good, other players say it's too hosed. The problems with fire AoEs is armor and scatter. Fire still factors in armor, whereas Ray of Judgement does not. Also, many foes are immune to burning, either naturally, through quick removal of it, or through enchantments. Fire's about where it otta be; good but not too good.Lord Twitchiopolis 08:59, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Headshot=Insta kill. Ebon blah blah=not insta kill in many situations.

Of course, I mean, Fire Magic isn't Hammer Mastery(ies) every second, to many foes at once. Of course it kills your energy at once.[/sarcasm]
I ran Fire Magic a few times in PvP and saw people run it in PvE. All I got to say is lolzpwnge; I only needed to see double Teinai's+Searing Heats. Especially in 8v8, you got room to counter da counters. I heard about [tgr] or something like that. And Fire's about where it shouldn't otta be: "BRING AN MM LOOOOOL AT ALL THE CORPSES". mate[edit]

You can't introduce counters to casterdamage simply because you need the healing. You need casters to be toned down again tbh.Lilondra User Lilondra Sig.jpg*poke* 07:17, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

I don't do that. I made a caster damage counter. Not because I need the healing, but because it will force people to use stuff with skill: it's hard enough to melee now without aid, but think about that aid being countered. Battles will be more interesting, relying more on tactics than OP magic. It can introduce problems, like Ranger tanking for example, but that can be easily removed. Titani Ertan contributions 07:29, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Watch GWFC imo.Back then there already was a balance failure but everything was still doable.People got stacks of DP but still stayed in the game most of the time.Lilondra User Lilondra Sig.jpg*poke* 07:46, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
In Prophecies, if you died in a GvG, a teammate would resurrect you and you moved on. Now, your resurrection is D-shotted from 50 different dimensions, all at once. At Prophecies, the fear you had is that your monk would be snared by the ele and captured by the warrior. Now, your fear is that you will see an elementalist. Titani Ertan contributions 07:50, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
They also had dshot back then,They also ran it.The problem is that building in counters does not balance it out it just power creeps the game. You know what saved Te in GWFC ? CoF,They needed CoF to stop FoC ! If they didn't have it they would never have gotten this far Lilondra User Lilondra Sig.jpg*poke* 07:55, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
They didn't run D-shot in 50 different dimensions. I have no idea what the hell is CoF and FoC, but I agree that building counters isn't the way to go. But that also means that building anti-physical is a bad idea. My suggestion gives the GW world the ability to block spells. As casters are the new damage dealers, and every single profession has an anti-physical, doesn't balance=every single profession has a way to beat casters? You need a way to counter damage without 100% reliancy on your healer. Titani Ertan contributions 08:00, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Yes they ran Dshot,FoC = Feast of corruption,CoF = Cru pf frustration.Spell blocking will also block off mesmer ints wich is a bad idea imo. Also your forgetting clean spikes Lilondra User Lilondra Sig.jpg*poke* 08:25, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

I know they ran D-shot. I didn't know they ran Feast of Corruption. Also, blocking Mesmers is primarily the idea, and of course Mesmers would have the ability to counter/remove such feats. They always have. Titani Ertan contributions 08:29, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
My point is that you don't get more dshots on your res sig.I'd also say that adding new mechanics is a bad idea most of the time.Just tone down caster damage already Lilondra User Lilondra Sig.jpg*poke* 09:02, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
If it was up to me, all skills and professions would be reverted to Prophecies era. But guess what? It's not up to me. The closest thing I can do is making it look like Prophecies, where you had a counter. Titani Ertan contributions 09:04, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Your counter would be ints.Because back then only mindshock had 1 sec cast and lots of damage Lilondra User Lilondra Sig.jpg*poke* 09:05, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
There are always bad skills. Titani Ertan contributions 09:06, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
No your wrong,2 sec cast shouldn't equal a bad skill and back then it didn't.This is why I want to nerf bar compression on rangers and increase the recharge on their interrupts.Lilondra User Lilondra Sig.jpg*poke* 17:07, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
How am I wrong by saying that there are always bad skills? I didn't say "Mind Shock is bad". And I agree about interrupts. I just need to come around to it... Titani Ertan contributions 18:46, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
I thought you were assuming that 2 second cast spike assist or skills in general is bad Lilondra User Lilondra Sig.jpg*poke* 18:52, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Wow, you answer really, really fast. Get a life (no pun intended). Titani Ertan contributions 18:55, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Watchlist and check whenever I'm on firefox tbh Lilondra User Lilondra Sig.jpg*poke* 20:02, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
I only check my mail when the bip from Gmail Notifier starts to talk back to me after I swear at it. Then I know that the bips have taken over my brain and I need to check my mail, where the watchlist updates are. Titani Ertan contributions 21:01, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
I'm just saying that even if you build in counters it won't stop the fact that 600+ damage spikes now exist. And if somebody spikes clean then those counters will be useless. So instead of building in counters you should adress the need for those counters and tone down the skills that pose a threat a bit.Note: Mindshock is fine,it is when you got more then 1 Mindshock ish skill in the game that problems occur.Lilondra User Lilondra Sig.jpg*poke* 06:05, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Practiced Stance[edit]

I don't know whether you still check this page but come on dude. Dual Shot 4 arrows gogo? If you want to promote R-spike, this is the way. Dark Morphon 12:46, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

lolpromoterspike. No, I'm not trying to. Titani Uth Ertan 13:49, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
At any rate, a skill like that is asking for problems. Dark Morphon 14:31, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Even if, it needs very careful use. You can't just spam stuff and get best reward with an elite like this. Titani Uth Ertan 14:38, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Dude. Dual Shot -> Savage Shot is 6 arrows. I don't know about you but that seems like one hell of a spike to me. Dark Morphon 15:00, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Hmmm... I'm trying to figure out a way to fix this without screwing it or changing the functionality too much. Titani Uth Ertan 15:10, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
As soon as you have to work with energy penalties, you're probably doing something wrong. Rule of thumb. I would personally not bother with +dmg elites as they generally are only used in spikes. As the Ranger isn't by design a spike class, it's undesirable to give them spike skills. Dark Morphon 15:26, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Any recommends? I'm stuck with either something very similar to this only with conditions, or some other condition spreader. Mabe Poison Arrow, costing more, on 3 targets? Titani Uth Ertan 15:49, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
I'm afraid I didn't really think about this Stance a lot. Maybe a function similar to Expert's Dexterity? Dark Morphon 15:58, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Elite Stances in general don't really follow the standard Ranger pattern, which is an Elite Bow Attack most of the time. That makes it hard to find a good function for it. Dark Morphon 16:01, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Practiced Stance Practiced Stance. 5 Energy30 Recharge time Elite Stance. You attack 25% faster and you have +2 Expertise. You lose 5...3...2 Energy every time you lose Health. (Attribute:Marksmanship.) ? Titani Uth Ertan 16:13, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

That'll drain you very fast if you get attacked. Idk, it all is pretty dubious. Dark Morphon 16:25, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
That's the point. You need to use it very carefully for best effect, so it won't be too abusable. Titani Uth Ertan 16:31, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
/shrug, go on ahead. Dark Morphon 16:39, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
