  • Rep -> "Faction"
    • Could you then spend this faction on, say, consumables? Every other form of faction can be exchanged for something; what would be the exchange for this faction? God knows how I'd love to buy Prestige Armor on faction...
    • With Lux/Kurz faction, there are other ways to get it than through PvE; AB, JQ, and FA come to mind. Would there be an equivalent implemented for this? I could see Norn points tying into your Gladiator Wars (if I'm interpreting correctly), etc.
  • ANet version of GWx2
  • "His name was Brother Mhenlo, and this is his story."
    • I'm not really familiar with the GW lore; what did Mhenlo do, again?
    • Relating to the above bullet, what would the weapon set be?
    • And lastly, what excuse would Anet have to launch this after the Bonus Mission Pack has already gone live?
  • Gladiator Wars (complete with special PvP-exclusive Gladiator armor sets)
    • Lame tank builds, I'd think.
    • Perhaps with a sealed deck, so as to limit defensive skills?
    • Paragons would cry.
    • The concept of PvPer armor sets is awesome.
  • Tomes with Baltazar faction
    • PvPers don't generally need skill tomes, and when they do, Zaishen Keys are a great way to get them.
    • I think Tournament Reward Points and "PvP Vial of Dye [Black]" would be awesomer. PvP charries are always wanting for teh better armorz.

Rep to Faction is actually an idea which I have completely forgotten my original intent, so I can't answer to that. >.<
"Mhenlo's Story" - what did Mhenlo do, again? That's the whole point :p I have no idea when ANet plans to answer that question, if ever. I think that making it into a BMP-esque story would be a great way to reveal it to the players. Since it is a completely blank slate, every aspect of it is up to ANet...including the weapons. (Who knows? Perhaps Mhenlo really used to be an Assassin or something.) Finally, it would use the perennial ANet excuse: tie it to either a new product, or as a bonus for buying...I dunno...more character slots or something. I would also appreciate a /bonus Axe, since none exists, and perhaps a few other nice things like the Coke Items. I dunno. Up to ANet marketing to find it. (It is far too good an idea to make it free content... although doing that would allow ANet to save some face from people who complain they never add anything new, for free.)
Gladiator Wars - A "sealed deck" is one idea; it is already limited to PvP versions of skills, so at least Smiter's Boon wouldn't work. :p If ANet really liked the idea, they could create new versions of skills specifically balanced for 1v1 (Guild Wars has never been intended for 1v1 play). For example, Defy Pain (1v1): 5 adrenaline. For 1...5 seconds you take half damage. This skill is disabled for 10 seconds. I think that perhaps looking at the Polymock skills would be a good place to start. It's true that Paragons are at a disadvantage, so perhaps Leadership could be changed for 1v1 in some way...? Then again, Soul Reaping's bonus would also be useless in 1v1. As to "PvPer armor", I think it's justified, since PvP characters don't have access to as many skins as PvE characters. It would also encourage more PvE-PvP mix, which ideally raises the average competency level of the players.
Tomes with Balthazar Faction - Some players, like myself, couldn't care less about the Zaishen chest, and are too lazy to sell their keys to other players anyway. If you're also UaX, then you really have nothing else to spend Balthazar faction on, so it just accumulates. Even if you do buy zkeys with Balth faction, and then you want to buy tomes, you'll need to go to a GW auction place or stand around in Spamadan until someone's selling for a reasonable price, etc. So I think being able to spend it on tomes is a nice, instant-gratification alternative. Hopefully this would also make the prices of elite tomes settle to around 5k or so...that's the theory anyway. It could be done for tourney reward points also/alternatively.
PvP Vial of Dye - oh, the horror that would unleash :p Vili User talk:Vili 02:20, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
But why do you need skill tomes if you're UaX? If you could get tournament reward points and dye for your faction (see last bullet), then you could avoid the pain of having to PvE, and still have sexy shit to PvP with.
PvP dye sold for half merch price, only applicable to PvP items. I think that'd solve it? User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 03:04, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
UaX for every character? That's quite an accomplishment. o_O
"PvP dye sold..." Oh, wait, you want PvP people to spend PvE money? I sense a new gold sink. ;)
I'll get around to actually suggesting these things when I can be bothered. Vili User talk:Vili 03:32, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
UaX is account-wide? *gasp*
What I meant to say is that every PvP charrie you make will be UaX. To quote, "The purpose of PvE is to get cool-looking shit". People that PvP make PvE people because they want cool stuff, too. And they want elite skill tomes because having to actually PvE to get elite skills... Well, that involves PvE, so it's not ideal. So they have to spend money to get access to stuff that they already have access to.
By making PvP armor sets and weapon sets more available (by making them obtainable via Balthazar Faction), PvP charries can have all the sexy of their PvE brethren, without actually having to PvE. They wouldn't need elite skill tomes, because they'd already have access to all their skills.
The only thing that would then separate them would be dyes; PvP people have a limited selection. So, people should be able to buy PvP Vials of Dye for Balthazar faction, the exact amount of faction being half the gold price of the dye at the trader. So a PvP Vial of Dye [White] would be around 2000 Balthazar faction, while a " [Black] would be around double that. The dye would be non-tradeable, and could only be applied to PvP items. Balthazar faction is worth its weight in gold, if you will; PvP chars would essentially be getting dye for half of what PvE people pay for it. Why the price difference? PvP people can only show off their dye in a very limited number of places, and would have to re-dye their gear every time they changed a mod on it. (Alternatively to dyes, one could perhaps "unlock" certain colors for use when coloring items? The issue I see here would be that everything in PvP would be black, always.)
I just don't like the idea of making PvPers PvE for stuff. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 18:42, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Switch[edit]

It caches currenthour, so the picture won't just change every hour by itself. Either the browser's cached version has to have expired or someone needs to edit/purge the page, or it won't update right. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(talk) 07:07, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

That's why I put it under a section saying it is almost as good as <choose> tags, but not quite. If you can find me a better way to "randomize" such thing, I'd appreciate it. I don't particularly care if it does not update hourly, anyway - the main point was that it's an automated way to change the image, so I don't spam RC/the history just to change it. I'm reasonably happy with my screenshots and feel like showing them off; even if they don't show on time, this is still more exposure than previously. Vili User talk:Vili 07:29, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
